I wouldn't mind having Marcus Miller's skills but using my own voice! My own particular style is a culmination of many many styles and influences! Nathan East, Jimmy 'Flim' Johnson, Mark Adams & Scott Ambush are huge influences as well!

Of course I thought of this long before 4HG said anything but:

I could play like anyone it would be "ME" ten years from now!

Why because the greatest joy of any musician or artist is discovering their own signature style?  I'm in constant competition with myself ten years from now, constantly trying to close the gap between him and me.

Unless you have played over 20 years, You'll always sound like someone else.  My sounds is a combination of Louis Johnson, Marcus Miller and for the pass year or so Andrew Gouche.  When I play places 90% of the bass players think I have a unque sound, but the ofter 10% can hear my influences.

Myself, I play like the Bass Player I like to hear.  I can make my own groove, but I use their techniques.

It would be a cross bet 3 players: Maurice Fitzgerald, Reggie Young and Grant Hall!!! With a little bit of Victor thrown in. ;D

I have not heard all the great bass players out there but I have much respect for Victor Wooten and Jaco Pastorious from the little of them I heard. I wouldnt mind if God gave me their ability mixed with his own special annointing for me.  ;D If I ever get to the level I want on any of my instruments I will be a playing fool for Jesus. I know its going to take time though.

I would have to say mixture of: Rickey Minor, Gary Grainger, Scott Ambush and Richard Bona.

I met Scott back in March...He's is a monster!  Really cool guy to...He and Spiro Jiro are nasty.
He's trully a professional...talked about many approaches to bassin from practicing to how to dress for gig to getting hair cut, staying in shape.  Scott is cool!

Thanks Willie T and everyone else. I'm trying to put together a workout plan that best fit me as a bass player only.
