Greetings in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
As a member of LGM, I'm aware of the religious diversity that is encompassed throughout this site, but I must as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ express something of importance. This stems from that "tongue" thread. Time to stop the foolishness.
(((((((((((((((WARNING)))))))))))))))
This will probably offend MANY and for it I do
not apologize, even if it cost me this thread.
If theres one thing that I know, it is that God is absolute. He being absolute, makes his word (the truth) absolute. We as man, being the fallable humans we are, will misinterpret these truths and even go as far as to change them to suite us. Yet, that which God has established remains true, just and INFALLABLE. Yeah, God is love and he loves his creation with a everlasting love, but hes also sovereign and eventually passes judgement to those who fail to adhere to his truths.
With that being said, I will say this, "Someone's living a lie and somebody's going to hell". What do I mean? Everybody here believes in Christ and everyone here considers themselves "Christians", but we foolishly have over 1300 denominations in the world of Christiandom because everybody wanna believe they have "the truth". People, listen, theres only one truth! The WORD!
Yes, the bible contains areas of symbolism and then there are passages that can just be taken for face value (literal). Understanding the Hermenutics of the bible may be tricky to some, but through prayer and reading in the Holy Ghost grants one true spiritual insight. Simply, there are things that we've been taught without doing any personal research, and things that we accept cause it "sounds" good, but isn't alway lined up with God's word.
Why am I saying all this? Cause we've somehow begun to live in a delusional world of believing that everybody gonna make it and that just ain't true. The bible clearly tell me what its going to take to make the rapture. Paul, one of the greatest of the apostles says in Ephesians, "One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism so that means SOMEONE'S living a lie. Some say baptism's "In Jesus name" and others "Father, Son, Holy Ghost and both can't be right. I've seen no baptisms in the "Father, son, Holy Ghost" method ANYWHERE else in scripture... somebody's going to hell.
Some say that women can't preach and then you have women that say they're called.... someone's living a lie. I personally don't see any women elders, apostles, bishops or any thing else in the NT and scripture even addresses those women who assume church authority (Rev. 2:20-23), but then I'm called a "hater" because of what the word CLEARLY states.... somebody's going to hell.
Some say that theres three in heaven, and other say that theres only ONE Lord... someone's living a lie. My bible tells me, "Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:" in Mark 12 and that the Father, Word and Holy Ghost are ONE in I John 5:7... somebody's going to hell.
There are those that believe you must live a holy and sanctified life before the Lord, then there are those that think you can live some filthy, degraded life and God understands your heart... someone's living a lie. The Spirit tells me that "the soul that sinneth SHALL die" and my word backs that up... somebody's going to hell.
"You don't need to speak in tongues to have the Holy Ghost" says some, and other believers say that its the initial evidence of it.... someone's living a lie. Jesus told Nicodemus, "You MUST be born of the water and the SPIRIT". How clearer can he be?? On the Day of Pentecost when the first church was established, he scripture says,
Acts 2:4
"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."
Why is that so hard to comprehend?? Yet there are those that sees it as meaningless to salvation... somebody's going to hell.
Scripture talks against men with LONG hair, but brothers will dread it up or curl in down with no conviction. Paul addresses the plating of hair and modest apparel of believers, yet we'll spend $1200 for a suit and $800 for a dress just to be "sharp" and draw attention... somebody's living a lie.
The parables that was taught by Jesus was not to entertain you people, but for understanding. Somebody's going to be a foolish virgin when Jesus returns with NO oil in your lamp. Sadly, some lamps haven't even been initially filled. Two will be sleeping. One taken and the other left. Two will be in the field. One taken and the other left. Two will be on LGM. One taken and the other left.... somebody's going to hell.
I am in no way trying to be "holier than thou" and condenming folks to hell, but God's word is his word and you can try to walk around it, jump over it or crawl under it, but if you don't adhere to it, you'll pay the consequences of your actions. People do want they want to do and go to churches that concurs to their beliefs, but that doesn't change the absoluteness of God's word. Everbody ain't right and theres going to be whole groups of people crying, "Lord, Lord" on that great and terrible day.
Someone's living a lie, somebody's going to hell...
Lord Help...
Since My tHREAD IS THE " REASON"... I want to provide clarity. Fi anyone goes back to my thread and needs understanding... just ask it's not hard. As far as the holy Ghost is concerned I look to Paul and in his writing some things pop out to me that I thought I might TRY and just talk about in apositive manner with CHRISTIANS on LGM. Why this always turns to some theological war is so beyond me. And, it is very immature.
The reality is NOBODY KNOWS WHO IS AND WHO ISN'T GOING TO HELL. IT IS FOOLISH TO MAKE THOSE KINDS OF REMARKS. You know if we do make it in, it will be by a small margin. I use to hear the old mother's say " Work out your own soul salvation, sweep around your own front door." This is why the world is not into our foolishness. We get saved and go to telling folks who is and who isn't gonna make it and why. If you think you have the way figured out to heaven and you got it all sowed up then poof be gone what are you staying down here for except to judge and tell folks how off they are. Well I tell you what, none of us will really know until God comes. So until then we should all be working out our own issues.
Anyway back to my clarification on my post here is what made me open the thread for conversation and discussion........ not debate
1Corinthians 14:1 - 33
1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts,
especially the gift of prophecy.
2
For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit.
3 But everyone who
prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort.
4
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
5
I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues,
unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified.
6 Now, brothers, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction? 7 Even in the case of lifeless things that make sounds, such as the flute or harp, how will anyone know what tune is being played unless there is a distinction in the notes? 8 Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle? 9 So it is with you.
Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air.
10 Undoubtedly there are all sorts of languages in the world, yet none of them is without meaning. 11 If then I do not grasp the meaning of what someone is saying, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and he is a foreigner to me. 12
So it is with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in gifts that build up the church. 13 For this reason anyone who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret what he says. 14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. 15 So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind. ( this where the title of my thread comes from)
16 If you are praising God with your spirit, how can one who finds himself among those who do not understand say "Amen" to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying? 17 You may be giving thanks well enough, but the other man is not edified.
18 I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.
19
But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue. 20 Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults.
21
In the Law it is written: "Through men of strange tongues and through the lips of foreigners I will speak to this people, but even then they will not listen to me," says the Lord.
22 Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers.
23
So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and some who do not understand or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind? 24 But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all that he is a sinner and will be judged by all, 25 and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare.
So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, "God is really among you!" ( hmm so speaking in tongues and shouting is not a sign to the unbeliver that GOD is really among us)

26 What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. All of these must be done for the strengthening of the church.
27
If anyone speaks in a tongue, two--or at the most three--should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. 28 If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God. ( Paul is establishing ORDER HOW it should be done)29 Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. 30 And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. 31 For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. 32 The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. 33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the saints,
So If anyone would like to go back to my thread and talk about this in an intelligent non confronting way, please do. If not, please don't
