Chords you use on Certain Scale Degrees

Let's start a thread where you list the chords you commonly use on certain scale degrees.


In the Key of Db:

On the One chord:

Db/Db-Ab/C-Eb-F-Ab

On the Two Chord:

Eb/Db-G/C-Eb-Ab-C

On the Three chord

F/Eb-A/Ab-Db-F

On the Four chord

Gb/E-Ab-B/E-Ab-B-Eb
(I use this one when I'm not staying on the 4 too long.)

I like to use the Flat 5:

G/F-B/G-Bb-Eb

On the Five Chord:

Ab/Gb-C/B-E-Ab

On the Six:

Bb/D-Ab/Db-Gb-Bb

On the Flat Seven:

B/A-Db-E/A-Db-E-Ab

On the Seven

C/Bb-E/Bb-C-Eb-F

Alright guys.  What do you use?

I'd have about 150 views by now.

This is a trend that bothers me.  We want vids, but if we aren't at least watching the vids over and over to get chords and movements, what does it do for us?  Do you take anything from it, or just watch it and leave it?

HERE; PEOPLE LEARN IN MANY WAYS....SOME FASTER THAN OTHERS, SOME HAVE DIFFERENT METHODS.....IN ACTUAL, SOME WOULD RATHER AN AUDIO, THASN READING....SOME VIDEO THAN AUDIO.....SOME LIKE LECTURES....I USED TO GET OFFENDED, BECAUSE I SHARE VIDS, AND PEOPLE DON'T RESPOND....BUT NOW IT DOESNT MATTER AS MUCH!....LOL
I AM HUMAN, I LIKE TO KNOW OTHERS APPRECIATE, BUT ANYWAYS, THIS SITE HAS A LOT OF BEGINNERS....AND THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU WROTE, THEY ARE PRINTING IT OUT! AND YOUR RIGHT ABOUT WHAT YOU SIAD, BECAUSE HUMAN BEINGS ONLY HAVE THEIR 5 SENSES TO WORK WITH! It's true.  Alot of people probably didn't understand the title, or thought it was a question.

I actually prefer seeing video also.  I remember things better when I see and hear, as opposed to only seeing.  Still, I think many people only come on here looking for crazy vids, and not to learn.

i said it a long time ago, they should consider changeing the name seriously! not because people don't learn, but because i feel a more suitable name would be better, something like; " ifitsphat.com "
that way, after being here a while,it won't bother ya, when you notice people don't come to learn, but to be shown!, they don't come asking how to, but who has the answer!.........they ignore someone who is totally qualified to help them actually learn how to play! to have a person who knows one key, but has 1 run memorized, they ignore a title saying, different ways to play a 2-5-1, and flood a post that says,phat preaching chords.....only to find out, they already have those chords....lol and people are content, haveing someone show them chords, rather than being able to understand chording! if a person has one lesson, they can learn how to play any chord they want! but instead settle for someone showingem a series of chords, and needing someone again, for the next song, they need!

Very good Points.  I bought "The Real Deal How to Play the Hammond B3", and just mimmicked the chords.  It wasn't until Months later that I realized that learning the THEORY behind the chords will enable me to do them in any key.  They showed two songs, and I mimmicked them chord for chord....I was at the church till 1am learning those songs EXACTLY the way they did it.   

I picked up the DVD months later (after I had forgotten the songs), and learned the songs pretty much how they did it, in about 20 minutes.  Why?  Because I wasn't mindlessly mimmicking chords.  I saw the chords and understood what they were DOING! 

Not only that.....Once I learned the songs, I picked up the different movements and passing chords they did, and I can now apply them to different songs.

Knowing not only what to play but WHY to play it opens up your eyes and allows you to apply every movement, chord, and passing chord, to any song on the spot!

Instead of begging for fish, we need to learn how to fish for ourselves.
