This is the day...( a lil taste)
« on: September 27, 2006, 01:38:42 AM »
Sup LGM fam..It's been awhile since I've dropped something from the vault on my fellow musicians...here's a track from Fred's new album...this track is the hottest one on there to me...it's entitled 'this is the day'....Overall, the album is pretty good but it doesn't measure up to what I'd expect from a Fred project...I was a lil' dissappointed with the 'studio' sound, seeing as how this was a live recording...all in all, it's a cool project...Hope you all enjoy.

Yeah I heard that track on MYSPACE...I new he was gonna go this route the last time I saw him live...
He did a whole selection of songs with this feel....

As far as i know.... the album was studio and the live recording was for the DVD.
I know Calvin played on this track and one other studio cut... and on the Live DVD recording...
You know FRED usually gives you something different for the DVD than the album that's part of what I like
about his DVDs. I get to rip the audio and I have something different in my iPod....

What up everybody! This is ya boy Darius (Fred's percussionist). Just wanted to clarify some things. The new Fred Hammond CD "Free To Worship" is a studio recording with 2 live tracks (Celebrate He Lives is on a limited edition CD along with a bonus DVD with 3 live songs from the recording at The Potter's House). The actual live DVD is set to be released sometime in November. Hope everyone enjoys this new project. Peace!

The link didn't pick up but I know Fred is going to bring the thunder. The one thing I've admired about listening to fred's music for over 15 years in the fact he finds a way to keep his music lively but biblically sound. Are you saying this album isn't like that?

Well, Fred is my uncle through marraige, but that is not why I play for him or how I got the job. It got me in the door, but I had to audition just like everyone else. At that time, the old band from the Pages of Life CD/video were still there, and they liked what I brought to the table. That was about seven years ago and i'm just blessed to still be doing something that I love doing.
