Midi Controller

Pardon me, I might sound like a clutz here but Im learning. Im a "plug and play" dude could I buy a midi controller instead of buying a standard keyboard would it serve the same purpose for as sounds. Help me...

I midi controller usually has no sounds or very few and the quality of those sounds are usually low. The only sounds you will get are the patches or soft synths you have on your computer. If those are good it will sound good playing thru your computer. Although you can buy a controller then buy a module and take the controller and module around. That's the same has having a keyboard.
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.
