SX Ursa
« on: March 25, 2010, 01:17:31 AM »
Well after much thought I decided to get the 5 string new SX Ursa. Its the sunburst jazz bass. I have a MIA 5 string active Fender jazz right now but I needed a passive to go along with it. I know some of you here on LGM have one so I thought I'd join the club too. Plus, it was in my budget at this time. I hope I will like this bass once it gets here. From what I understand, the only thing that has changed is the new headstock. I don't mind, but it does remind me of my old Peavey T-40 I use to have.   ;D

I have the SX ursa five in the Quilted maple red w/black burst finish. I love the way it feels. Playability wise it is the most comfortable bass I have played. The electronics will eventually be upgraded, The stock pickups are loud but they sound a little to twangy. The neck is excellent except I get a little fret buzz on the G string when the action is low. I am considering having them leveled, but I hate to put too much money in such a great inexpensive bass. That having been said I really love the bass and I have played it at churh several times just the way it is.
Rest?, Rest when you're dead!!! Right now there's work to be done.
