TO THE NEWBIES AND OLD MEMBERS OF LGM PLEASE READ!!!!!
« on: November 25, 2006, 09:29:21 AM »
Brothers and Sisters who populate this room, let me speak to you for a short moment please.

I've been a active member of LGM since 2004 and have become very fond of this medium. 4HG has a vision that God has given him and  LGM has been a blessing in my life. I never met the man or even spoken to him and I can say I feel like I known him for a long time. Thanks man..
Now, I gonna say this with love and respect to all the newbies. When you come in this room please just try to fit in in a positve constructive manor. There is no need to come in here and start drama with members who have been loyal to this site. You never know who you may come across in here on a daily bases and they might be able to help you get to where you need to go in you music career, if in fact that is what your passion is.
Try to stay away from hater remarks that may offend some one. If you don't like someones comment or company they rep, please don't post anything negative against your brother. Just stand. It doesn't help the Kingdom in any way, shape or form.
Plenty of professionals have come and gone because of your tongue (this goes for the old members also).
I happen to be a pro at this and do my best to honor God and feed my family with my craft that God has blessd me with. I do not claim to be the greatest drummer since the drum was created. I just do me. So do not destroy a man by posting comments that will be viewed as hate.
This is the last time that I will post something like this ever again in this room. If someone speaks on me again in a public forum, I will stay away for good.
I've already made my true friends on LGM and you know who you are and I got all the love and respect for you in the world. You know that I'm the oldest person in the room and I don't play childish games. This is the best room by far on LGM IMHO, but it can be the most clanish also.
With that said, God Bless each and everyone of you and keep it positive and let's help build this temple.

BB,

Thank you for speaking the truth in love!
You can see your heart through your words and all of us newbies should recognize
that words are very powerful and we should all let are " yes be yes and no be no".
Ephesians 4 sums it up for me " walk in unity".

The Zildjian K's are the only Zildjian cymbals that I dig. What type of environment are you playing your cymbals? It may be best to get an audience perspective of your cymbals. Have someone play your cymbals while you listen to them in the audience (preferrably with music accompaniment). I almost guarantee you'll feel different about your cymbals.
My goal as a musician is to be better than myself.

BB,

I have crazy respect for guys like You, BBD, sugabear, jfunky, SabeK, ER, MOAM, flat fifth  and a few others on LGM. I think of you guys as true professionals. Not because of the gigs you have or how good you are, but because of your willingness to be honest, rep for Christ and most of all be helpful. I'm not trying to slam anybody, but some of the more popular cats in the industry look on LGM to see who posted a clip of them and the only time you see them on LGM is when they chime in with only their 2nd post or comment since being a member for 2 years to say thanks for the support or respond to someone who didn't like their clip.

BB, You and the guys I listed above(more are than listed) are really taking out the time to help brothers and sisters out to not only become true musicians, but also true ambassadors for Christ. Y'all keep doing it, and keep livin' for Christ.

I really apreciate you my brother for the Love and encouragement. I've been noticing your language in your post and I can tell that you have a pure heart for your fellow brothers and I really honor that man. You are what we need on LGM.
It's been getting to be way too much with some of the new members that come in from other forums in the world and think they can bring that mentality into this chruch. They are very inmature in their walk, and it smells so bad. Men like me can only take so much, then I response with a fury that will probably  get me kick off of LGM ( I pray to God that I will use self control ) but, you can ask all my lilttle brothers in this room like Juse, Drumma-Sheen, BBD (and BBD doesn't not play at all, he's been called everything in the devil's dictionary and he's still will love you like a brother), J Funky, SK, Sugabear.
We have meetings and discuss the direction that the room is going in . We try to hold in down when SK and J-Funky are busy. Their just a phone call away and they respond quickly, within 7 mins when the drama get to be too thick. I won't go into it in detail, but what went down this morning with me and a newbie was so foul.
I tryed to handle it over the PM, but he posted my PM. You can't do that. That's a cardinal rule. Within 5 minutes J Funky had the whole thread deleted. And what was sad about it was, the thread was a great thread. One dude came out his face and messed it up.
J Funky and SK ain't playing around. SK is a old wise man. He expects the best out of all of us. I'm the oldest in this room and I expect the best out of us.
I've got 30 yrs. of musical experience under my belt and have learned more on LGM from all of you brothers then I have in college, chruch, gigs, shows, whatever. I did the major Los Angeles/Hollywood record label thing with a alternative Rock/R&B. The Gangsta rap producer thing and I hated it.
We have the most annointed and talent percussionist/musicians in this room out of any website hands down. If I was a betting man, I would put money on it..... Man, I love all ya for real. And BBD, you know I love you too lil bro. I ain't going nowhere.... You know what, you guys may call me by my name, Darrin. Beatboxerz is my e-mail address and I'm tried of being known as that. So please, you have my permission to call me Darrin. Or "D".

Hey BeatBoxerz,

Thanks for posting this. Ever since I joined (2005) I've noticed alot of people come & go too. I'm glad Sabe & JFunky have kept everything
mostly out the back door & I'd have to say that if they stop moderating then I'm gonna go through withdrawal symptoms or something.

Really annoys me when these nubs come on here in & start throwing their weight around like they know a thing or too. Best thing I've learned
about these threads is staying out of the arguments, or if I do post, I try to stay away from the arguments & post on the topic itself. It's definitely hard for me but I just look at it like it's a waste of drum learning time. I spend most of my time on LGM here in the drummers section & if there isn't anything of interest i'll shoot across to VicFirth's education site to remind myself why I go to the LGM drummers forum. ;D

I'd like to say that I appreciate all the expertise & advice you share freely with the rest of us here at LGM. THANK YOU.
(That goes, for you too Sabe, JFunky, BBD, MOAM (Div), ER, Juse, Freddy and everyone else that I might have missed).

Stay Blessed.

Had to break out the old name for this one.   ;)

Yea it's frustrating.  Cats get 50 posts and think they're special or something.   ::)

A big problem is that there are alot of immature teenagers getting on here.  There's NOTHING wrong with being young, but some of the younger kids are brash and ready to rumble.

Kids, leave that stuff at home.

Come to this site ready to learn.

And if you come to this site and have 50years of experience and 10 posts, DON'T expect us to all bow to your infinite knowledge.  Regardless of what you've done in your career, you have to gain the respect of this board, and that comes through many, many posts.

You hit a solid one there homie.  (I don't even know what to call you anymore...  Whats your government name? :-\ )  It takes time.  This is probably one of the hardest mediums to communicate in, because its all text.  You have to be very blaton in your expression and tone.  The smileys go a LOOONG way also.

I honestly think that we could do a better job of policing ourselves too.  There are too many cats on this site with over 1000 posts.  We should be doing a better job of checking this stuff at the door in the threads.  We're not here to be babysat on the internet.  We shouldn't have to have the ever-present threat of a lockdown or a mod coming thru to clean up a mess.  We know the rules of the road.  Lets do a better job or driving the speed limit and stay in our lanes.

Again...  May the LORD watch. Between Me and thee....   ::)

I haven't been here in a while, but I agree with your post.  I'm glad you decide to stay.  We need more of us staying, rather than leaving out of frustration.  We all can hold each other up in prayer.  Thanks for staying and keep God first.
