Had to share with all of you in the bass community. As a female, fairly new to the bass, I went to Sam Ash about a year ago, purchased a Fender starter kit ($279) and Pfeiffer's, "Bass Guitar for Dummies." Was enjoying all I was learning not just from the book but from all of you in the community, newbies and advanced players. When someone at church, another female, about 4 months ago expressed a desire to learn the bass, I gave her mine. People told me that I should never have done that without having another one on hand. I know I didn't have money to purchase a new one.
I started searching on e-bay but realized what I was looking for at this point was out of price range. Imagine my surprise when at my surprise birthday party, a group of six friends had purchased and given to me, the most beautiful bass I have ever seen anywhere-- custom-made-- of the smoothest, sweetest looking wood and the strings feel as if i'm sailing on smooth waters. It was crafted by a man out of Indiana named Doug Jones and I tell you, my reaction upon seeing that caused so many to just burst into tears of joy.
Don't TELL ME because I know for myself--YOU CAN'T BEAT GOD GIVING NO MATTER HOW YOU TRY! What I gave up so someone else would benefit, and what I got in return can't even compare. I gave up a bass from a $279 starter kit. I got a $2,000 custom-made in return!
Now it's on to real bass lessons to move my level from novice to intermediate then to advanced, glorifying God all the way on this journey; the God who is willing to give to us far more than we have the sense to pray for. GOD'S BLESSINGS AS WE SEEK FIRST GOD'S REALM AND GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS AND ALL THESE THINGS WILL BE ADDED TO US!...Shalom!
