Oh boy,
I'm not a moderator here or anything like that, but I think this might get out of control. What I just is this let's just respect each others opinions and thoughts. I've learned alot from this site. There's a lot of good stuff happening here and a lot of ignorance, but we must learn to listen and learn. It's not easy to hold our tongues back, but let's be careful with our words. Let's not let this get into a false prophets situation. However, with reading all these responses I feel that I have learned alot of things just from this one topic. I guess the conclusion I got from this shed's topic is that sheds can be both a spiritual thing and an educational thing too. Nonetheless it depends on who's leading it and what are motives are. Take care and God Bless everyone.

i don't know if my comments may contributed to you thinking that someone was offended. your questions were in fact valid. i just answered them according to what i experience. reading through the posts, i don't think anyone was offended by what you said. sheds i participate in are about education and inspiring each other. we often eat dinner together afterwards and have even done scripture study and discussion. then we will make copies of the videos, watch them, and then tell each other later about how much fun it was, what we picked up from the others, and when we want to do it again. Usually, we're all pretty pumped about playing the next day at church.
but of course i shed with friends, not just fellow musicians. so there's really no jealousy or pride to be dealt with. we would put each other back in place if that ever happened. because we're friends.
and as for what's the point of a shed?. . . i know for a fact that my left hand is faster and more controlled, my rolls around the kit are more varied (left to right, AND right to left). these are things that picked up on and improved because of things i watched people do in sheds. . . not on videos. so sheds have their place. it's just not the same for everyone. i guess i'm just blessed with friends who play good enough for me to learn from and humble enough to learn from me.
be blessed.
