That's not a guarantee, it's still at the mod's discretion.  The whole thing is that the board is not really a place to advertise, but if people are regulars here and they have something going on that they want to let folks know about, there's a little more leeway.

Exactly.  I didn't make the rules.....I just copied and pasted them.  The moderators also watch the activity and actions of people from the day they join.  It is merely up to their discretion what goes.

It also states in the guidelines:  'When a rule and a moderator appear to be saying different things, the moderator is always right.'

Ok, I think that's a little messed up that we don't take people seriously unless they have made a certain number of posts. It reminds me of this crooked society where we don't take people seriously unless they make a certain amount of money.

Those 2 situations are not the same.  It's not that we don't take them seriously, it's just they don't know and understand what goes on around here, so they need to sit back and observe before jumping in.  This board really is no place for sensitive people, we love to clown.

Ok. Good point.

So I guess they're supposed to be "above the law." ::)

And I guess it is based on favoritism.  ::)

This confirms what me and the other members of this site have been discussing. Well I do appreciate you vtguy and nessalyn taking out the time to address this.

As with any and everything, there is an order, pure and simple. You can go 'head and try to call it something else, but it's simply things being done in decency and in order. And, in actuality, the mods are 'the law'. The global moderators, at the behest of the site coordinator 4HisGlory, monitor this website. THIS site isn't for the advertising of other sites, per se.

Think of it like a church. There's the pastor: 4HG; the ministers: the GLOBAL MODERATORS; and the heads of the various auxiliaries (or rooms, in this case  :D): the THREAD MODERATORS.

When you first join the church, there's new members classes (the rules and guidelines of LGM). After new members classes, a person, with permission, could be allowed to "join an auxiliary" as it were.

I don't see the issue. No one would (or shouldn't) come into a new situation, anywhere, and expect to be given carte blanche.

I digress........

Another tip:  I think it helps if you ask first rather than post and see if it gets deleted.  That shows that you care about observing the rules.

Tell me about it.  ::)   Next thing you know, they'll be trying to say that stuff isn't funny, and that's why they don't have a sense of humor about it.  :-\

Ok, I think that's a little messed up that we don't take people seriously unless they have made a certain number of posts. It reminds me of this crooked society where we don't take people seriously unless they make a certain amount of money.

Look at it like this.

Respect isn't given: It's earned.  If I see that someone contributes regularly and INTELLIGENTLY, and they're opinion is generally unbiased and well-balanced, I'll hear what you have to say.  Because I know you.

But there are SO MANY PEOPLE who come on here and post 3-4 times then leave.

So many in fact that the AVERAGE LGMer has 3.4 posts (total posts divided by total members= average per person)

Yet there are about 3 members who make up 21,000 posts all by themselves.  (SisterT, Vtguy84, and Sjon)

Then I can name, off the top of my head, a good 5-10 people with  2000-4000 posts (and I KNOW there are more than 10.) and even MORE cats with over 1000 posts (I have about 3000 between my other personalities and this one).

So with an AVERAGE of 3.4 posts per person, and with 20 people making up over 70,000 posts, that tells me that MOST members have posted only one time, IF AT ALL.

So yes, you have to post a certain number of times to be taken seriously, else you're just another face in the crowd!
