MONSTER CABLE vs. PLANET WAVES

The Lord has just blessed me in allowing me to purchase a Ken Smith Black Tiger.  Now my tradition is that for every new bass I get, I buy new accessories.  I buy new strap, new case, new cable etc.  Now I have bene using a Planet Waves Circuit Breaker for my previous bass and as my tradition, I have to buy a new cable.  I am thinking about buying a Monster Cable, but really want to know are they as good as they are made out to be.  How do they compare to planet waves?

Stick with Planet Waves out of the 2 brands. I don't like either! I prefer Whirlwind Cables.

I had a Planet Waves and didn't like it and the best part of Monster cables is that you can take them to any dealer that carries them *when* they go south on you and get a new one.  Personally, I think the old fashioned ones work just as well as the fancy new ones.  How much do you want to spend?

Im not really looking at price, but im looking at what is best for me.  I do like the circuit breaker which i already have though

What do you like about Whirlwind cables?  Around how much do they cost? 

I have the planet waves circuit breaker and I love it but I know a player that has a monster cable and the sound is much more clearer and sharper.

The monster cable in my opinion would be the way to go if you got silly amounts of money burning a whole in you pocket.  I would only say that those types of cables are a must in a live recording situation.  But when God is blessing you with new accessories every time you get a new bass, send me you old accessories.  I have had the same strap since 2000 or 2001.  Send some blessings my way.

I also use and prefer ProCo Stagemaster cables. Monster Cable is okay but are no better than any other decently made cable. They have failed me many times though (on stage, a big no no) I don't like their plugs as I've had the jacks damaged on 2 of my basses using Monster. I also find their cables too stiff for my taste. I like flexible cabling. Pro Co also makes noiseless cables like the Planet Waves. As for pricing, both companies products are cheaper than Monster! And are more reliable.

I use Monster Cables and would recommend them to anybody. Yeah, they are a lil on the pricey side, but it's just like our axes, it's whatever YOUR money can buy. I have not had any problems with my Monster Cables so far and I've been playing for a year. Had to get a 21 footer cause when I bought my 1st one, I bought it too short, lol... But that 21 footer did hurt to buy: $49.95. Best believe, if anything happen, it's going back & getting replaced for free! So yeah, being able to replace it for free counts for a lot.

I had to replace my 12ft monster cable last week.  I believe I did something to the cable myself, but rolling over it with my chair in my office, but I had no problems getting another one from GC.
