NEXT BIG SCREEN MUSICAL?
« on: December 29, 2006, 10:30:35 AM »
With the recent success of 'Rent', 'Chicago' and so far, 'Dreamgirls', what do you think should be the next stage play to be turned into a movie??

Me? I'd like to see JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR redone.  ;)   What all of the 'super-saved' saints have a fit  ;D

so, what do you think??

I'd like to see a CLASSY, modernized version of "West Side Story" made.....or a better version of "The Wiz".  The one with Diana Ross was......................WEEEAAAKKK!!!

I'd rather be imperfectly inspired, than to be perfectly entertained...

Now, either one of those would be interesting. I didn't even think about "The Wiz"

RENT wasn't much of a box office success....especially compared to the other two musical turned big screen projects....lol.  Neither was the smash BROAWAY HIT....THE PRODUCERS.

I think a black version of THE MUSIC MAN might be interesting.
I'd like to see RAISIN....the musical version of RAISIN IN THE SUN.
AINT MISBEHAVIN'
SWEENY TODD (lol...I know its a bit gory.but....)
JELLY'S LAST JAM
SMOKEY JOE's CAFE

AIN'T MISBEHAVIN' would be really cool, actually.  I'm not talking about box office numbers, I'm talking word of mouth.  ;)
