Drum Tips
« on: January 30, 2007, 07:20:40 PM »

Yo what up peoples, I found this site with some good tips for drummers.

check it out

Here are some stands outs for me.

24. A lick a day, keeps the doctor away: If you learned just one new drum lick a day, that's 365 new drum licks a year! Think about it.

52. Networking is equal to, if not more important, than practicing drums. Remember; "out of sight, out of mind". Networking is advertising (or marketing). Ask any business about the importance of advertising. You are, in fact, a business. You are the product (service) and you need to be "sold" to others. If they don't know how to find you, you will not work in a band.

27. Singles and Doubles. Drum rudiments are made up of doubles and singles. Learn to play these as cleanly, evenly, and correctly as possible. Do the same with doubles. They make up all the rest! Master this and you'll find everything else comes a lot easier.

...yeah that site is cool.  I'm surprised it's still around.  I would be careful with some of the advice or tips given though.  Not everyone posting advice knows what they're talking about if you know what I mean. ;)

...I personally have a Golden Rule when it comes to tips:  "When in doubt, ask around". ;D

....or you could just ask us here on LGM.  I think that we have some really reliable sources here.

...either way, good looking out "B".
