Polychords
« on: March 08, 2007, 02:31:50 AM »
To my theory based musicians

I need a detailed explanation of what a polychord is.
Is it just combination of 2 major chords?
Can it be 2 minor chords and still be a polychord?
What about 2 Augmented chords?

Is it like a tri-tone where E Bb = F (or 3 whole steps apart)?

A lot of times I'm just hitting chords and really dont know what they are.
Say for example, I hit this chord for a praise and worship sound when Im in Ab.
Left /right/base

F G Bb C/ Eb G C  /Ab

Is this a poly chord?

A detailed explaination with polychord progression examples are much appreciated.

Thx,
C-4
