just so you know, alot of the afro-cuban/latin stuff is played much lighter and when you play your solo make sure to keep the song moving because before it the song is moving then you got to your solo and it stopped moving. thats the main pointers i can tell you about that style

yeah...you're right...in Latin music when you solo you got to keep the rhythm going through out your solo. I didn't think the fiils you did really fit that style of musuc. You did your licks right but for that style it dosen't really fit. I guess it's like playing percussion through out the solo but it's just that your on drums and you can do way more. Nice clip over all..Nice feel...keep doing what you do man... god Bless

yeah homie I enjoyed that clip!  You gotta good feel for the music and if you keep practicing and listening, it only gets better!

Youre on "that" level with your independence too fam!  Nice work with the cowbell and hi hat!  You can definately tell youve done your homework!

Try not to mix those church chops in there though!  lol!

Thanks for the share and keep'em coming!

Nice job, Only comment I didn't agree with was the "Church Chops" comment, I really don't like it when we Label things like GOSPEL Drummer or Church Chops We are Musicians who play a certain style of music.( Eor Example) A Drummer who plays Gospel Music.

That was nice.  there are a few things you can do to make it better.  As someone said earlier about the dynamics.  You want to bring that down a lot, and be lighter and bounce off of the toms.  Then for the songo patterns try to play the ghost notes as well as the accents.  It makes a difference.   During the groove, also learn or play more of a bongo bell pattern or a cascara pattern.  It will bring everything together.  Your independence is such that it should not take you long at all.  Remember in traditional latin music, there are a number of percussionist, so what you are doing on the kit is transitioning those parts to the drum set.  You are in essence playing 4 or 5 parts.  Lastly or your fills, try to make them that they push and pull....what Russ Miller termed the eggroll effect.  It will sound more authentic.  Hope this is received well.  Take care
