That was nice. there are a few things you can do to make it better. As someone said earlier about the dynamics. You want to bring that down a lot, and be lighter and bounce off of the toms. Then for the songo patterns try to play the ghost notes as well as the accents. It makes a difference. During the groove, also learn or play more of a bongo bell pattern or a cascara pattern. It will bring everything together. Your independence is such that it should not take you long at all. Remember in traditional latin music, there are a number of percussionist, so what you are doing on the kit is transitioning those parts to the drum set. You are in essence playing 4 or 5 parts. Lastly or your fills, try to make them that they push and pull....what Russ Miller termed the eggroll effect. It will sound more authentic. Hope this is received well. Take care
