Good question.  I think that the HHX will blend more, but the Fast Hats will cut more.  It depends on what fits your music the best.  For me, I have three sets of hats - Zildjian's 12" A Custom Mastersound, Sabian's 13" AAX Fusion Hats, Sabian's 13" HHX Groove Hats.  For church, I'm using the AAX Fusion Hats because I feel that they fit the music better than the Grooves, but I will try them for a month to see how they fare.

cool let me know how the 13" Groove Hats work out in a church setting. I also have the AAX 13" Fusion hats. What do you use your Groove hats for??? What styles of music??? I'm digging the groove hats but I want to see if I bought them if then I would have a good variety of hats for different styles. let me know...God Bless You Bro.....lates

Zildjian 12" A Custom Mastersound

I thought for a 12" hi-hat they wouldn't be loud enough but I was wrong, very very wrong! Very pleased.

Blessings all.

...lol.  That's funny because Jkay told me the same thing when he let me use his.  He was like, "They are crisp and they will be heard."  They worked for me because I was playing in an unmiked setting but when I took them to my church that Sunday....oh man, I was getting "the look". ;D

Maybe they were giving you "the look" because they were thinking Wow! Them there hats look good!

It depends on the setting, but I have 12" Paiste Sigs that sound wonderful, especially in the studio; 13" K Custom Dark Hats, 13" A Custom Projection and 14" Zildjian Quick Beats.

The Sabian 13" AAX Fusion Hats with the Extra Heavy unlathed bottom will cut like no other.

I just did a quick "groove" hit last week with these older cats and thehats that were on the house kit were some Paiste 15" Giant Beat Hats. Woooooo! :oThose will probably be my next buy on hats. Super Clean! i had heard them before at NAMM but I never actually got to gig with them until last week!
