II Tim. 2:15 - "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, Rightly dividing the word of truth."
As a preacher i find many people don't know the word. we've got 2 study and not just rely on the preachers because i could preach 2 u and if u don't know the word i could tell u anything and u wouldn't know what i was talking about. this is the trap many believers fall into 2day. many preachers on t.v. and other forms of media preach and say a lot of unbiblical things 2 us and we believe them. especially when it comes 2 money. certain promises in the Bible were only 2 the Jews, yet we preach 2 people on them and wonder why there are no results and people begin 2 question God and think he's a liar. GOD CAN"T LIE! but u're preacher can.
i also notice that we love 2 take and quote scripture 2 people when we don't even know the word ourselves. stop taking 1 verse and trying 2 preach on it without reading the whole chapters and previous chapters 2 find what they were truly talking about the reason behind something. u cannot read the new testament without reading and understanding the old testament, this is where u'll find the reasoning behind the new.
Stop looking 4 "sugar-coating" preachers who appeal 2 u're flesh and seek men/women of God who will truly help u by preaching the truth and being real.
