Best heads for Mapex Pro M
« on: March 17, 2007, 09:35:35 AM »
anybody have any opinions?  ive used G1's on both sides of the toms but i think that the stock heads which are 2-ply, sound better.  ive had the kit for about three months and i know some of you had a Pro M for longer with more experience with it.

I have no experience with Mapex, but if you had G1's and you liked a 2 ply better, go with the G2's and keep your G1's on the reso side.

haha. You need to make a stickie topic called: Head Selection for Tom Drums...and paste that in there. That way you don't have to type it up every 5th topic.  ;D ;D

...okay, would that be "drum"heads or human heads? lol

...I heard they have a tough crowd over there in Brazil.  Either you can play or don't play at all.  I mean, they do have a town that is consider the Mecca of Drums.  I read it on an article in either Drum or Modern Drummer magazine a few years back.

ssshhhh... both.  ;D Ya, the Majority of South America is pretty rough in tumble. However, I have quite a bit of friends from Columbia, Chile and Brazil. Some of which still live there. You know, I heard something similar to what you are talking about, but I wasn't so sure. Maybe it be true.

...it is true.  There is a complete town down there that is all about percussion.  Think of the old days of New England and how the towns looked.  Now, each buiding has different rooms that classes are held for a different percussion instrument.  That's just crazy.  Now I understand why that young Brazilian kid on M.D. '05 is so sick.
