Remove Voices from Track

Say there's no accompaniment track available for a song.  Is there a way to remove the voices from a track yourself?  I'm sure there's got to be a way, but does anybody know the easiest and least expensive way to do it?

There are online programs that you can download, some of them free.  Unfortunately, they don't really take the voices all the way out, they're just a little lower in volume than the music.  I think the programs are really intended for practicing musicians to be able to hear and focus on the music more.  At one time I downloaded one by Anvil? (I think that's the name) but like I said, it didn't really remove the voices all the way.

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this (please be patient with me) :-*

Okay, here we go:

There is a way that I know of that will "completely" remove all vocals from a cd track ... it is a device called "A Voice Eliminator" ... to my knowledge, as the other poster said, you can find these devices on-line, or you can go to a "professional  recording studio" ... make friends with the engineer(s) ... perhaps they'll even do it for you for free??? or at least close to free  ;)

Peace,

You could get someone to do the song as a midi track. If you got the software and a Kareoke stereo you could record the song to your computer. without the lead vocals. Then record the song with some filtered vocals through a EQ. Do a number of tracks with different frequencies filtered. Then save all the recorded tracks as a new master track. ;D Even Im getting confused but its hard to explain. Or you can get the software they are talking about then filter what you have left.
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.

Thanks, everybody, for all your suggestions. :)  I came across this program online called "AV Music Morpher Gold."  Has anybody heard of it or used it?

http://www.downloadjunction.com/product/store/27882/index.html

It says: "...features new Voice Extractor and Voice Remover with advanced algorithms to split singer voice and music of a song."  I'm kind of confused though, because it says that it's freeware, but then to the right, there's a price of "$99.95." ?/?

From what I'm reading, I think there's a trial version in there somewhere.
