« on: March 05, 2007, 02:18:52 PM »
does anybody own this bass?  I bought it new from americanmusical.com. it has a nice tone and feel but i had a problem with it thats be very annoying. the vol control when you turn it up, has a lot of static and it's projected from my rig. i called schecter and they said EMG and schecter knew it was a problem and the going to ship me another pre-amp without any hassle. is if any of u guys are having the same problem contact schecter guitars.

the only problem I had with my Elite was the blend pot was a little scratchy.  I think that is an EMG problem tho.  I didn't particularly care for the EMG preamp so I put in a Bartolini 4.5 active/passive preamp in and that change my sound tremendously.  I'm going to replace the pickups soon with Barts as well.
Keep God first and he'll do the rest!!!

I also have a lefty Stilletto Studio 5 (for sale actually).  I've never noticed the problem that you mentioned but I've also never been in a situation that I needed to have the volume turned all the way up.  Hope everything works out for you!

God Bless,

I do not own a Schecter, but I will share this with you............

That's basically a problem with a lot of these mid-level and entry-level basses.  They look great, and sound great, but they skimp on the electronics.  I know someone else who owned a bass in that same price range and the electronis started shorting on them and they had to spend some mre money.  I'm glad that Shecter is going to take care of you, but for them to go ahead and release a product that they know has some issues says a lot about their commitment to excellence.

When you've done your very best, do even better.

Funny that you mention that particular bass.

I was really focused on the Studio 6 which seemed like a lotta' bang for the buck!

After speaking with the owner of The Atlanta Bass Gallery (a boutique exclusively for the bassist) He
said the bass is not that bad ... (he could do a setup to maximize) but save your money and go for the KEN (even used).
I wish he hadn't said that darn it!!

I wish you luck. I still feel you have something you can work with
