Song Intro Critique (DWM)
« on: January 26, 2007, 03:50:52 PM »
I wanted to share the intro of a song I am currently working on for my brother named, "He Is". I just started it last night and hope to have the full song finished by this weekend. It's only 26 seconds but it's always the intro that catch you so I wanted to get some opinions. For those who want to know what I use, I am exclusively using Reason and made the wav directly from Reason so it hasnt been properly mixed yet. Check it out:

Yeah man that sounds REAL tight... I definitely want to hear the whole thing when you're finished! I didn't even know Reason could do all that... now Im going to have to boot up that program and really get into it, haha!

I like it, too. I just have one question:

When did James Bond start praising the Lord?!?!    ;D :D :D
Despite our communication technology, no invention is as effective as the sound of the human voice.

Appreciate it. I love Reason to death. just started using it about 5 months ago and learing so much about the program.

For some reason, that is what I heard in the intro of the song. I wanted something real "live" feeling to open it up. I havent had alot of tie to actually finish the song but it is still a work in prgress. Thanks for checking it out though. More responses please!!!!

Actually no. They decided to go a whole different route with the song so as of now, all I have is this intro in my library. Oh well.....

YES SIR DOC.

THAT IS A NICE JOINT SO FAR.

THE ONLY THING I WOULD SUGGEST IS THAT WHO EVER THE DRUMMER IS ASK HIM TO TUNE HIS TOMS A LITTLE HIGHER. IT ALMOST SOUNDS LIKE HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY BOTTOM HEADS ON HIS TOMS.

SO FAR FROM WHAT I'VE HEARD, THIS TYPE OF SONG HAS ALOT OF ENERGY AND POWER, YOU REAL CAN'T GET THAT TYPE A SOUND WITH MODERATLY TUNED TOMS.

BUT THE JOINT IS NICE. I'M WITH EVERYONE ELSE, I WANT TO HEAR THE REST.

Umm, not going to be quite possible. Those are keyboard drums done using the Reason Drum Kits 2.0. Not sure if the software has a way for tuning heads. LOL!! It's only a quick mix made right out of Reason, hasnt been dumped into PT yet so what you hear now is not anywhere close to being final.

Hadnt thought about finishing it, but just might have to.

WOW, I WOULD TRY TO EITHER LOAD DIFFERENT SAMPLES FOR THE TOM CHANNELS OR BRING THE PITCH UP ON THE TOMS.
