Vid of me playin' on my myspace

add me, then look in my comment box, lol i was a lil sluggish but it's alright, i need work n i never had a teacher or mentor or anything so it's just me n God.

we a nice lil shed at my church Saturday night, my boy Kevin recorded himself, my cousin Paul and me, we got more videos but he prolly didnt upload em yet i guess,

oh yeah lol sorry if the drums sounded a lil bad i didnt finish tunin' the toms yet i just tweaked till they sounded ok enough to jam on.

Not bad my man.  Speed is not something that one should actively seek.  CONTROL and command of the instrument is what you should be striving for.  Pick up Stone's "Stick Control" and/or Morello's "Master Studies".  Accuracy is the key.  You should also want to be a sponge.  Absorbing all the music that you can.  You're on the right track doc.  Stay with it.

thanks, yeah my left hand is hinderin' me mostly, not sayin my right is perfect though neither, i stopped workin' my hands and practicin' control for a while but i'm gettin' back at it ;D

Nice clip dude! try working on control over anything right now(AS MENTIONED)...because speed and other things will come..dont worry..... One suggestion... try choking up on your still a little bit too... that can play a hugh factor in gaining control.. ;)

Actually, I wouldn't stop working on your hands cause it's all relative... If you've got control of your hands (ie proper technique) then that translates to better controlled movement around the kit. One of the end results is speed.

This was something that SabianKnight put to LGM a while back. I'm still working on it myself. I always get caught in the speed trap though.  >:(  :-\  ::)

which will help you more on control, a practice pad or a pillow?  i've been practicin' on pillows for a while to get my left hand to make a manual rebound then perfect it on a bouncy practice pad, will this be effective?
