Another Instrumental---plzzz critique

My 4th gospel instrumental on fruit loops called Follow Him by the Toronto Mass choir
i added my own lil twist to it.... so tell me what yall think :)

ok, sounds good... nice use of different sounds, and your drum track is tight!

one thing to work on, though, work on using the quantize.

What you want to avoid is getting that "sequenced" sound, you want the song to sound as natural as possible. On some tracks I do, the only thing quantized is the drum track & bass, and then sections of other parts, never the piano (just redo parts that end up sounding funny).

Also for some of your lead part try throwing in that pitch bend to make it more slick.

Overall, generally good instrument mix. And nice arrangement!

HERE'S A SUGGESTION. GO TO THE TWO INTERNET SITES I'M ABOUT TO PROVIDE AND BROWSE AROUND FOR SOME PLUG-INS AND SAMPLES THAT YOU THINK YOU'LL LIKE.
THE REASON WHY I'M SAYING THIS IS BECAUSE, YOU HAVE A VERY GOOD SOUND AS FAR AS CHORDS/MELODY/RUNS/ECT. AND YOU DEFINATLY HAVE A VERY GOOD EAR AS FAR AS "MIXING" IS CONCERNED. BUT (i hope this doesn't offend you but you asked us to critique. and you know "I'M" alomost gonna give my most very honest opinion) YOUR INSTRUMENTATION KINDA BRINGS DOWN THE VALUE YOU YOUR SONGS. THIS MEANS THAT SOME OF THE PATCHES/SOUNDS YOUR USING FOR YOU SONGS DON'T SOUND TOO GOOD WITH YOUR SYTLE OF PLAYING.

AH MY BAD, I ALWAYS LIKE TO PUT DOWN THE DRUMS FIRST. (if I'm not recording the song with a metronome) BUT IF I AM RECORDING THE SONG WITH A METRONOME, I LAY DOWN THE BASS FIRST THEN, PIANO, ORGAN, THEN ALL OF THE EXTRA STUFF.

8)  aint nobody offended out hurr... thats y i put this trak out 4 critique lol...
Ive only been doin Hip Hop instros n I just started makin gospel instros so a wurd of advice is always welcome frum tha more experianced producers


BTW gud lookin on those sites its about time i start download sum new sounds espicially some drums....

BUT that B4 VST i have is dangerous, that plugin has the closest sound to tha Hammond B3(at least i think so)

n also one more thing, where do u find a nice sounding free grand piano VST??? i had the 4front Truepianos VST n it sounded ill but it expired so i gotta use a cheap VST

iaght ill try that... cuz usuall lay down straight melody, then build on that.. chords..bass..etc drums are last

UM A NICE GRAND PIANO VST...........................

THE ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD IS THE SAMPLETANK FREE VST. (you can find it on kvraudio.com) I THINK THE PLUGIN COMES WITH ABOUT 16 DIFFERENT PATCHES. (all of them sound nice) AND I THINK THERE ARE TWO PIANOS IN THERE AND I  E.PIANO. AND VARIOUS OTHER SYNTHS,ECT. ALL OF WHICH SOUNDS GOOD.


BUT I'LL TRY TO THINK OF SOME MORE STUFF.

NOW, OF COURSE EVERY PATCH DOES HAVE 256 SOUNDS IN IT BUT, THERE ARE SOME RARE ONES THAT DO HAVE THEM.

GUD LOOOKIN OUT!! I knew about soundfonts but i didnt really pay attention to them and i never started using soundfonts till NOW lol n im goin on a download spree

As for sampletank i tried to use it but it wasn't workin out for me maybe ill try load it up again n give it another shot


BTW u sound like a pretty experienced producer n i wus wonderin, if you got any tracks uploaded where dey at??

Pretty good man. How long have you actually been making tracks?

I have a couple of suggestions. Your sounds are too thin, especially the drums. You might want to tweak and layer them to give them a little more depth. Also be careful sometimes that what you do with a lead sound doesnt clash with the chords you are playing. Also in your mix, everything seems to be straight in the center so sometimes in the song you seem overwhelmed with instrumentation. So try panning some of yor sounds to the left or right or even play around and have some switch back and forth (not sure how to actually sdo it in FL though) I like the feel of it and know with some more experience under your belt, you will be a pretty good music producer. Keep growing and absorbing.

I been making hip hop instrumentals for about a year and i started making gospel instrumentals for a lil over 3 months now so im kinda new to it but i know i got potential and you guys help bring out that potential so thankz erryone and more critique iz welcome
