Motif ES Prices
« on: April 09, 2007, 01:25:49 PM »
Hey everyone, heads up

Motif ES prices are dropping fast.  I saw tha Motif ES 88 on sale for $1999.00.
The Motif ES 76, possibly for $1699.00, and definately for $1799.00.  If you are interested, check out the guitar center, musicians friend, sweetwater and sam ash.  Also, if you are considering an XS 76, I am given to understand that one of the aforementioned stores will sell the Motif XS 76 for $2500.00.  ($300.00 less than the MAP which is $2799.00).  If you are cheap(and I am), be aware that sometimes the price shown at first is negotiable.   Reading the various forums has alerted me to the fact that many believe that the differences between the ES and the XS are not that great for most applications, certainly not equal to the approximately $1000.00 difference in price, but that is a very individual decision.
Just a "heads up".

Thank you for the info.  I still have the Motif Classic and was debating on getting either the XS or the ES.

Oh yeah man I've noticed them price changes too. Lemme tell ya....GOD ANSWERS PRAYER lol. Looks like I'm going to be joining the Motif Fam after all (of course with the ES model though). But yeah I'm another one who doesn't see $1000 worth of improvement in the XS either. I mean true you get more "on board" memory but most of us use our computers and stuff for that regardless, and they improved the quality of the sounds but instead of making them "better" they just "enhanced" them with all these release effects, and pedal controlled effects and so on. As a musician in church, i see no need for all of that....especially not for $1000 more.

I have an ES that mainly collect dust.  After I got it, I realized I do not need a fancy board since I mainly only use one or two sounds.  Which is a waist to pay all that money for it.

I was told by a keyboard player back around December and again around January to watch for s90 prices to drop in March.

I heard that they've dropped at the Guitar Center here a little. I haven't checked it out yet.

Im with him man, send that thing to me especially if its a ES7! Hey sorry but man you REALLY DID WAISTE YOUR MONEY. I mean no HARM but the Motifs, Fantoms, KorgTRs, and Triton Studios, are all "workstations!" Using only two/three sounds on it, you would have been better off with a Roland Juno D/G, or find someone who has a Roland XP80 that will actually sell it! You could have saved your money in much smaller keyboards or somethin!

I saw the price drop the other day.  I was looking at getting the S90ES...but now it's listed at $100 more than the ES8....which has to be a mistake or oversight...things are looking real good...just make sure y'all get your boards before they disappear...like the classics did.

That means the S90ES SHOULD drop down to around $1500 or so...because it's usually the same price as the ES6....hmm...I wonder if the price of the MO series will drop???

I doubt the price of the MO series will drop. They'll probably be around for a while. But the ES is definitely going to disappear just like the Motif Classic!

yeah I was thinking that too....but I'm scrambling now to hurry up and get a board before the disappear...because you may still see a Motif 6 in a store every now and then...and the classic 8s are like unicorns..you see 'em on TV...but as far as in real life?...yeah right...but the classic 7 is like the end of the rainbow...

Does anyone know if there is a way to load the extra piano sounds that the S90ES has onto the Motif ES8?

I just picked up a MO8 from a friend of mine last week. If the price for the S90ES drops I'll be a lil upset. The "Natural Piano"(The first voice under the Acoustic Piano Category) Is one of the best piano sounds i've ever heard on any keyboard. I just love it.

But the MO8 will work out just fine for me. I think i'm going to get a Korg Triton Extreme 61 key for my second board, since the prices are dropping on those as well.

Man...they say the S90ES has the same sounds as the ES8...but IMHO, I think the S90ES sounds better...those piano sounds...mmmmm.....but I feel like I'm being forced to get an ES8...because it is listed as $100 less than the S90ES....
