I would try looking at the used market as well.  You may come across a sweet deal for a used combo that's expandable.

Pawn shops here in Baltimore county MD. are way to high. I don't think I'd buy one from round here.

http://dallas.craigslist.org/msg/315529609.html  I found this bass it's the exact same one but in black I bought for my father about 6 years ago for $125. The pawn shop wanted $350 for it 6 months ago. Ironiclly that same practice combo was in there too for $165.

There's a Fender Bassman 200 right now on eBay.  The auction ends sometime Thursday.  I'm bidding on it but good luck if you think it will meet your needs (besides, my wife will kill me if I get another *anything having to do with bass*! ;D

Yeah i played out of it at a local music store here in Gville. It was nice man, I liked it a lot. Sounds pretty much like what I want and need, it had some nice lows....i mean DEEP, as well as tight highs. I haven't tried the Ampeg yet, I'm gonna try that out too probably next week sometime. But the ibanez combo has an advantage over the Ampeg, cause it's expandable (only 45 watts though)

It is in fact a great combo but to me it's just plan weak. As a combo feeding the speaker in it I'm happy but to feed another nawwww

So since it's pointless to expand the Ibanez....which one is the better buy? IYO

The Peavey Bam 210 Bass Combo looks like a good one.  It's around $600 though...

If I were you, I would save a little more money go get this head. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/GallienKrueger-Backline-600-Bass-Head?sku=482534  Make sure you go into Guitar Center with cash in your hand and you'll be able to walk ouit with a good head, cheaper than what is listed on this website.

Then I would get this cab, http://www.avatarspeakers.com/B210%20NEO.htm With this combination, you'll have basically what you are looking for in a combo size, mini rig.  Also, you'll be able to expand with ease in the future if you like.  Jeremy pickup up the same head for dirt cheap at GC, and he has the 410 as well as DWBass has this cab(i think).  But i'm do know that they've both dealt with avatar cabs and like them.

I know this one is a lil more then you wanted to spend. This one seems to hit on all the points you wanted. If I were in the market for a serious combo this would be it.

As is it pushes 180 to the 2x10s if you were to connect a 15 to it at 8ohms it would be a total 300. I am sure you can dial in a tone you like, I have this in head form and I can play with the settings all day long and like verything I hear.

Does guitar center sell the avatar cabs or are they only available online?!?!

The Hartke 5000 is a 250 +250 .  I would bi-amp. I can seperate the cabs. I had a 410 that would receive the Hi's at 250 watts and a 1x15 which received 250 watts. and that was enough.  Most groups play very loud which mass the singing. We played were the focus was on the singers, So we turned the instruments down.  I have visited churches were I left because the music was too loud. When you play at a lower volume, each note you play is heard.

This one made me rub my chin. I have been considering a Hartke head cuz of the price/wattage.

Unfortunately, they don't make the 5000 anymore (have to find a used model). I have the 5500 and I love it! 500 clean watts!
