Switching tom mounts
« on: April 18, 2007, 02:04:43 PM »
I've wanted to try this a while now but didn't know if it could be done

Last nite i was watchin jay leno and this rock band was on and I notcie the drummer set was a yamaha
but then i notcie how he had it setup, it look like it was on DW stands there was no bass mount and it wasn't yamaha stands it went up close and i got to see a clear view of the L-arms it was on

I wanna know how i can I switch my yamaha tom mounts to put it on DW Tom stands i like how DW tom mounts are rather than Yamaha's

...you can't.  Are you sure that's what you saw??  The DW stuff is specially made for DW.  The YESS Mounts on the Yamaha are specially made for it.  If you just saw stands holding the cymbals then that's a different story but for the mounts.....that sounds like a custom job or someone modified something.

Hardware:
