I just want to see the different drummers you all like. My favorite drummer is Calvin Rodgers who plays on most of John P. Kee albums. Tell me who is your favorite. Cheesy  Cheesy

                                                   Bless Yall,
                                                                  cckdl Cool  Cool

Calvin Rodgers is the man!!!!!!!!! Actually he only played on one of John P Kee's album (Not Guilty), and he played with John P Kee when he produced Drea Randle, But for sure Calvin Rodgers is the man!!! He plays with so much energy that he can't do anything but drive the praise out of you!!!!! I like others do Spanky being #2 and Chris Kee has the sweetest pocket ever! I just love how all of his grooves just sit in the pocket so tight and clean!!!!!! But still Calvin is the man, thats my role model!!!

Billy Johnson (... born and raised in Philly) is the man... I had the pleasure of meeting him in Orlando a couple years back. He was playing with jazz guitarist, Joyce Cooley. His 3 stints with Santana ( for folks that don't know, note He hooked Dennis and Carlos up!... he had the gig after Rodney Holmes and new Denis wanted to play with Carlos and Carlos wanted to play with Dennis.) His years with MAZE featuring Franky Beverly of the hook.

He was/is a very cool cat with groove and musicality for days. In our conversation. He was very disappointed that the younger genreration are players and not musicians. As well the absence of bands these days is disturbing.
