Chris Jones...Dance
« on: June 04, 2007, 07:17:15 PM »
Hey peops... here is a clip from Sunday of a song we did by Chris Jones.  I'm still trying to find a better place for my recording mike, but you can get the idea...

Sounds like you guys are doing alright and having a great time! Your bass playing sounds good! What are you using to record?

I'm using a Sony minidisk player with a stereo mike.  the issue is the mike gets a little over driven from the bass or the singers shoving the mike down their throat...lols...
I also loose a little sound quality when I transfer it to a file...I record digital but have to transfer in analogue.

Hmmm.........maybe try placing it a bit further away. If you can get a nice clean, non-overdriven recording, I may be able to clean it up and boost some frequencies. That's the only thing I don't like about mini-disk recorders! There's no way to digitally transfer to a pc. I bought one thinking I could. I ended up selling it. And for some reason, Sony will not add that function to it's software.

Yeah, sony claims proprietary issues for not allowing it... I'm trying a few different places for the mike.  I'm really recording to hear the band (more so than the choir).  I'm getting close though.  The recording sounds better than the previous ones...  Of course the bass (low frequencies) always suffers.

Here's another clip from Sunday.  I Give You Everything.
It's has some examples of muted thumb especially in the beginning and end.

She truly ministered this song...
