Please help with midi

I just brought a M-Audio Axiom 25 midi controller and I’m having a big problem! because it’s my first midi and I don’t know have to use one. Is there a web site I can go to  find out  how to use midis and how to set them up because right now I’m lost and don’t understand  anything that came with the thing. Please can someone walk me through this thing.

You have a program to make them with? (Cubase, Cakewalk, anvilstudio (actually free i think) )

it came with this program called live lite 6 but i think it's just a demo. is there any easy programs out there
