Just a side note that this reminded me of: I have always wanted to pick up more keys (honestly, I'd love to take some organ lessons), and I was talking to one of my previous pastors about it (he's a piano player).
He told me that the piano for him is all patterns, and that it's "easy." I laughed, because that's the exact problem I have switching instruments: to me, the guitar is all patterns, and I CANNOT GET THOSE PATTERNS ON TO A KEYBOARD.
To me, it looks like a one-stringed guitar (since you've got to go a half-block down the road to hit the next octave, etc.).
I wish there was an easy way to visualize what you know on one instrument to another, but there's not.
Just keep plugging at it, and the fingerings will become easier and more of a second nature. Get a chord book, you already know your scales, learn how to get them onto a guitar, and keep practicing that. The good news is that you know your theory already, so that's a huge hurdle that's behind you, now you're just teaching your muscles something new.
Keep at it, and keep us posted on how you're doing, and BY ALL MEANS, badger us with questions.
