Yeah, considering 99.5% of the people have caller ID...

At the time it came out, no. But now, there's no use for it. ;)
Despite our communication technology, no invention is as effective as the sound of the human voice.

A-men.  I never used it back in the day and would hate when someone called me saying:

"Did someone just call me"

And, if they wanted you to call them back, they would've left a message.

Well *69 is kinda good I think because for people who don't except blocked calls you can still enter ANY  number and the person who has caller I.D. still has no idea who calls ;D because you enter a bogus number. ;)

I use it when I get calls and I don't know who the person is. I maynot want them to have my real number in there phone just in case they made a key stroke error. That person has the caller ID and does not accept blavked calls. The problem with that is when it says call back or... ENTER THE NUMBER YOU ARE CALLING FROM... you can enter any number, and that is what shows on their caller ID.

Basically they cancel each other out,and in some cases you still don't know who is calling you. :-\

From the phone company's perspective, it served it's purpose.  It gave them another way to create more revenue.  I didn't use it much when it first came out, and don't use it at all now with the advent of caller i.d.

That's as dumb as calling someone just to tell them that you don't want them calling you anymore.  That's just grade-school-ish.

Oh yeah next time you get a call and that person has caller id or whatever and it says " this number does not accept blocked calls....then it says " call back and un block or dial 2(in this area) and then enter the 10 digits number you are calling from". Enter any number ( has to be logical like LA has a 805) the call will go through and that person will see the number you entered on their caller ID.

Now I have heard it does not work everywhere and it depends on who you have, Qwest, Bellsouth, AT&T, etc..

I hate that too.

I hate when they check the caller id, and then call back asking "Did someone just call this number?" I got anywhere from 4-8 people using my phone, Heck I don't know if someone called, but if they didn't leave a message it wasn't important.

The other one I hate is when they call back and ask "Who's this?" I tell them "you called me, identify yourself!"
