I personally feel that, while they do have an interest in music, many people's intial interest in their instrument was adulterated by that seemingly everlasting need for approval & recognition. For some people, that need never subsides to the point that they can 'play a role', instead of trying to 'be the show'.

I can relate to this...........because I used to be this way.  I used to play chops like crazy just to get recognition and a pat on the back after the service.  But reading what alot of you had to say in some older threads and some threads on Gospelchops made me rethink and change my mentality.  I have to say I thought I was the stuff like some other cats did but to find out..............I sucked.  But because i changed my thinking,  I've got alot better now, and i really have to thank JFunk and Sabe because you two played a good part in it and still are:)

...man.  This is quite humbling.  That means a lot.  I Praise God that we (Sabe & LGM Fam.) could help someone become a better musician for His Kingdom. 8)

For real JFunk, Sabe, Div and some other guys on here have changed my way of thinking when it comes to drumming and being a musician and even in other topics. I came in this site knowing nothing and I have learned a whole lot since then. I think I have become somewhat better as a drummer since I joined this site. I still got lots to learn. So thank you guys. You guys are the ones that inspire me to become better in my craft. God Bless.
