Lifting Hands and Making Those Faces
« on: June 01, 2007, 10:55:35 AM »
I play the keyboard at my church, but the main keyboardist is on the acoustic piano.  So there are times when I am not playing during the worship service.  During those times, I find myself focusing in to what the pastor is saying, lifting my hand saying "Amen" or making those church faces--y'all know what I'm talking about...

Anyway, sometimes I feel that I shouldn't be doing that because I should be in the "musician" mode at all times while at the keyboard.  What are your thoughts about this?

Aww man, do what you do.  Yeah, we are still in ministry, but we're still human.  I amen my youth pastor all the time...I don't know about makin' them faces (lol), but I try to be into the word just as good as any member.

I think it also helps my playing during altar call.

What is your idea of musician mode?  I've never heard of this before.  Just because you the musician don't mean that's all you have to pay attention to in church.  I do a whole lot of other stuff, I don't just sit there anticipating the next song to play.
Real musicians play in every key!!!
