Scroll around untul you come across a piano (if you notice, you'll come across 14 different types of intstuments). When you come across a piano sound, press CATAGORY HOLD. That will allow you to only view instruments in that catagory. (in this case pianos)

Be Blessed :)

I have the TR but I think the buttons are similar (if not the same).

1. When you 1st power up your board, the "combi" button on the top left side of the screen should be lit.
2. There's a category button on the right side of the wheel - press that button and the left half of the screen should display different categories of sounds like: keyboard, organ, string brass, etc... Navigate through those with your F1, F2, F3 & F4 keys.
3. On the right side of the screen will be your sounds for that category. You can scroll up and down that list with the wheel or the up & down arrows (located to the right of the wheel). As you scroll through the sounds, you can press the audition button (next to the category button) to hear a sample of that sound.
4. Once you find the sound you want, press the F8 (OK) button.
5. To hear more sounds, press the "prog" button (next to the "combi" button) and follow steps 2-5 again.

Man, I had to play an evening service one time at another church.  I had no idea what instruments they had.  But the average church will have a piano at least.  I got there and saw a decent looking upright piano and a random electronic organ down on the floor.   So I was gonna play the piano.  Then when I got to it, I saw up on the pulpit that there was a Triton hooked up to a Roland KC-550.  I'm like ALRIGHT NOW!!!  I get up there and see that it's a 76-key Triton Le.  I know how to find sounds on the regular triton, but the Le had me like  ?/?  It was on some random piano/strings/bass patch.  It sounded decent for the prayer response, but I couldn't get to anything else.  So imagine how crazy I sounded playing "I am on the battlefield" on a patch with strings and such!  The only other patch I could manage to find was some Honky Tonk piano...and that wasn't happening! ;D

That's why I would always bring my own board, stand and amp - even If I don't need it, I'll just leave it in the trunk.

I played at another church last Fri night. They had a MOTIF XS7. As much as folks rave about Yamahas on LGM, I had to swith it out with my little 61 key TR because I can navigate thru it.

I don't own an amp yet.  I don't always feel like carrying my motif around.  But I can carry my macbook pro and a usb cord (or usb-midi depending on the age of the keyboard) and a 1/4 to 1/8 in converter and an audio cable.  I have the software version of the Roland MKS-20 sound module on my laptop that I can run through Reason 4.0

The motif is very very easy to find voices in.

I can relate to Fmason about the korgs. it seems like every korg I play, the piano sound is layered with another sound ?/?.

I own a Korg Le and love to take it with me everywhere I go. Yes it does have its layers on the piano or keyboard but it's very easy to navigate and to variate yours sonds from the combo menu. Unlike the Well raved Motif It's not as heavey and makes it much easier to manuever and it is also easy on the keyboard stand! There are two switches on the far left side of the keyboard that gives you either a different pattern or arpeggio switch as well as an octave switch. You can also create differnt patterns and switches from the global button. You can always go to Korg.com and download the manual for free. Just be prepard to have a lot of sheets of paper available over 150 to say the least. Enjoy!

korg pianos suck... but their organ and strings sounds can be tweaked to near perfection... And oh yeah, the guitars can be tweaked as well--I had made guitar sounds that were so real, you'd think you were playin' the real thing...

I used to own the Le until I traded it for a Roland, which ironically, all the sounds are good except for the organ (that's ok, we got a hammond at the church anyway)

But back to the point... just hit the category button-- and press the buttons that correspond to the tabs on bottom the screen to select different categories, and use the wheel to select particular instruments from each category

Ive fooled aroun with the Yamahas and the Korgs and I think they bother are reasoanbly easy.  With Triton Extreme you just press Program and the then I think it's keyboard or Piano and then select what you want.  Thats from memory soo sorry if it's wrong.

With the Yamaha Mo-6 or the Es rack, I believe its all the same you just press voice and then categories and bang you got all the sounds.
