A Picture from our Service
« on: June 03, 2007, 01:28:58 PM »
This is a picture my wife took at one of our early morning services.  Our pianist is singing Fred Hammond's "Give Me A Clean Heart" while his son joins in on the flute.

We're starting to do more with bringing the kids in.  My oldest son will soon start playing some pieces on the piano.  I'm teaching my youngest son to play "Lean On Me" and "This Little Light Of Mine" on bass.  One Sunday we'll have all three of them perform one or both of those songs.

I enjoy seeing the kids play it brings me a lot of happiness.

Lean on me was the 2nd song that I learned to play on bass. I can even play it on piano.

You had your chance.  I'm sure I turned my back at least twice while you were there.  (or did I not bring that bass when you were in town?)

You did.

LOL

Man, naw, I'm kidding. I can't get rid of my bass....I passed up my opportunity to get that Conklin GT7, that I was eyeing, because my computer crashed. Spent the 1,300 on computer parts.

I dunno mang, that would be a tough call for me.  I'd love to have some new amp gear, but I built this PC 5 years ago... and I'm a geek for both bass and puters.  LOL!

I lost about 500gb of data, so my wife pestered...I mean convinced...me to upgrade the computer.

I bought 6 500GB harddrives, a new motherboard, and some other things. Now, I've copied all our stuff back onto the computer again, and I only have about 300GB, out of the total 1900GB, from the Raid array that I've setup. I may need to get 6 500GB drives sooner than I thought.

RAID for the win!  A man after my own heart.  I'm looking to build a setup like that soon.

Wow!  You've got more storage space than the cluster I run at work has.

I'm assuming they're all running SCSI drives then, otherwise, your job needs to update their equipment. ;)

Why so much disc space? (If you don't mind my asking.)

That's the "glass half full" point of view.  The "glass half empty" point of view, and my initial reaction when my wife showed me this picture.........We're all focused in different directions!!  Hopefully this is just a rare moment where none of us are actually watching the others for cues and just basic communication.

Peace,

James
