A babe indeed.  You don't tune a guitar (or any instrument) to a "theory".  Music theory is a system that expalins how music works (eg. why this scale works over that chord etc.).  It is good to have a working knowlege of thory, but it is not neccesary to master it (by default, you will know some theory).  As far as tuning a guitar, the standard is E-A-D-G-B-E from low to high.  There are many on-line and printed references that will introduce you to music theory.  Try this one for starters.

you just need to learn SOME music theory in general, how much depends on what you are playing. at the very least, scales, how to build chords, how to harmonize the major scale, how scale tones apply to chord extensions, etc. that's the least you need to understand.
