Some song to pick for my FIRST song post on LGM eh?   :D

The arrangement for this song is so beautiful though, so I had to write it.

LEMME KNOW WHATCHA THINK!

Angels-Richard Smallwood

Key-Eminor

Opening vamp:

G#/G#-B-E
A/G-B-C#-E
D-A-D/F-A-D
G-D-F/B-D-G
C-G-C/C-E-G-A#
F#-E/C#-F#-A#
B/B-D#-F#-A
E/A-B-D-E

E/G#-B-E         Through dangers seen
A-D-G/C-E-G    and unseen, there's pro-
D-A/C-F-A       tection
G-D-F/A-D-G    all a-
C-G-C/G-A#-C-E round.

(REPEAT FOR THIS PART: Under the refuge of God's wings, security is found.)

C,/E                    For
B,A,/F#                there
G,/G                    are
F#-C/C-E-F#-A     An
A#/A#-D-G           gels
B/B-D#-F#           watching
Eb/Eb-G-B            you
/A                      to
E/D-F#-A             keep
/G                      you
F#/E                   in
/A                      all
G,/G                   of
/G                      your
A/G-C-E              ways, keeeping
A/C-E-G              you from
B/D-G-B               stum
/B                       bling,
C/C-E-G-A           so
/G                      don't
F#/A#-C#-F#      be
/E                       af
B/A-D#-F#          raid.

God's appointed.....

Then you play the same chords in the vamp that opened the song.

I didn't do the part that goes "All Night, All Day" etc.

That part's pretty easy.

The chords are on point.   But there are some runs  in this song ( paticularly in the beginning vamp) that are really nice. And the timing is tricky  as well.

that is the one thing about the chord notation that we use  that I don't like.

At any rate,  good post, and this IS an awfully nice song.

Truth.  There are things that are very difficult to translate to our notation.

Something you can do to mix it up:

NOTE: A KEY IN RED MEANS YOU TRILL UP TO THAT NOTE

G#/G#-B-E
A/G-B-C#-E
/B,A
D-F-A-D/A
/G
C-E-G/E
C-G-C/C-E-G-A#
F#-E/C#-F#-A#
B/B-D#-F#-A
E/A-B-D-E

Here's a little variation on the intro that uses those pesky tri-tones u may or may not hear in the song:

G# / G#-D-E
A / G-C#-E
D / F#-C-E
G / F-B-E
C / G-B-E
F# / E-A#-E
B / D#-A-E
E / D-G#-E

When I first wanted to learn this song, those tri-tones is what jumped out at me, so that's where I started.

Yeah, on the reprise version you can hear those tri-tones real well when he leads it off.

Good work ya'll.
