I've wondered the same thing on occassion.  Kind of like where your "zest" seems more of a "test" than anything else, right?

I think I know where you're coming from.  You kinda feel like you're going through the motions, but your heart's not in it.  There's a bit of a disconnection.  There are various reasons for this, but the most likely culprit is the lack of engagement in the spiritual disciplines.  I recently completed a study on the benefits of fasting, and I'd suggest that you go on a fast, with the purpose of re-establishing your connection with the Lord.  Fasting has a variety of benefits, both physical and spiritual.  First and foremost, it is putting your flesh under subjection.  Beyond that, there is a cleansing- spiritual and physical.  And, coupled with prayer and meditation, it really does re-charge your batteries and gets you re-focused on your relationship with the Lord.  There are a variety of other benefits, but I think you get the idea.  I hope this helps.

Yeah, I'm feeling all of that.  It basically stemmed from a situation I been going through.  And I prayed for an answer, but I don't think I got it yet.  So, I've been wondering what's the use of going on, ya know?

Your 'going on' is your testimony and testament to God, and, at times, to others. It's like you're showing God that you'll wait and go through this until He provides that answer you seek.

It also builds us up for the next test; and the next one; and the one after that.

Give that over to the Lord, my brotha. And, as the song goes, He'll work it out. ;) :)

Bro, this might not be what you want to hear, but actually you have no choice but to keep on going on.

What would go back to?

When people left Jesus, the Bible says they returned to their old associations. That is what happens when we decide to do anything but go on. We reutrn to old associations, whatever they were.

Then Jesus asked the disciples "Will you to go away?"

The disciples asked Jesus, "Where will we go? You are the One with The Words of Life."

There is no where else to go but go on in Jesus. Otherwise, people just go back to theri old associations . .  . the very things that they prayed and asked Jesus to bring them out of.

Be Blessed, brother. You are such a blessing to us, with your musical knowledge and what you bring. That is why the devil wants you discouraged, but you will be ENcouraged, not discouraged any longer.

Be Blessed, man of GOD!

 :)

im going through the same thing right now and all im doing is as every one has been saying going onthis has not been the first. im continuing in this christian walk. The fact that you are continuing shows that you love God and you dont want to give up. the fact that you realise ur state shows that you are desting for spiritual upliftment never comfortable with just going throuhg the motions but actually knowing and feeling God nin ur life.
You will get over this, just dont let the devil convince you that you are no longer a christian or confuse u into thinking that God is no longer with u. Hold on continue and God will bring u throu, keep on going on.
In all things put God first and he will grant you the desires of your heart according to his will.

Bruadah--I will tell you this:  Where ever u r standing when this is over... is where u will be standing... Meaning it will end one day.  If you are in the streets when you come-out: this is where you will be.  If you are in the Church when you come-out: this is where you will be.  2 my knowledge EVERYONE goes thru this spiritual wilderness one time or another in their life.
