Are you getting it for the discounted price?  I've been getting the emails from gospelkeyboard.com where they're trying to clear inventory.

I have purchased the Urban Extreme and some of the DVD's offered by Hear and Play and I must say that the Urban Extreme was done in mind of those who know how to play and want to really flip a song in an extreme way so I would only recommend it if you know how to play and want to do something different.

Jamal Hartwell's first DVD is great, the Urban & Contemporary Worship helped me a lot and allowed me to increase my playing knowledge and style. Jermaine's hear and play products have also helped me a lot.

Although, it must be said its not really about having all the chords and progressions given to you, there must be a high level of practise and time spent learning the material given in all keys and the reasoning behind them, without this you are never going to be as good as you could be.

Overall my opinion is that yes these products have a lot to offer and they are well worth purchasing.

Hope This Helps

I might try hearandplay's new urban keys cd.  It's broken down alot telling what could lead to what instead of hears and jazzy way to play this

Yeah I have both of Jamals DVDs. The Urban Contemporary really set the foundation of what he talks about in Urban Xtreme. I recommend both because with the on screen keyboard and the way he explains it he make is easier to learn. I must admit that the Xtreme DVD is a lot more interesting but I wouldn't jump straight to that DVD until you have a foundation on typical gospels pregressions and such... I havent seen the Hear and Play DVDs so I cant say too much about them but I can vouche for Jamals DVDs being a excellent purchase.

I have both DVDs. Both very useful, but only buy them if you have some experience. Neither is for beginners.

The good:
- JH is an incredible player, and he takes a lot of time to show you how to play 'sweet' and laid back. Listen to his style.

The bad:
- The theory explanations are sometimes quite weak (take the 'ditone' chapter, which is really an application of #5#9 chords, or the "major 7 on steroids", which are really min11's). However, the music sheets given as pdf do use more traditional terminology, which should clear up any doubts.
