Are u serious, he's only 10 and playing for a choir?  Are u sure that he's ready for the job?  Sometimes, people need years of training before pushing them up to something like that.  If he is comfortable and wants to do it, then what u should do is let him listen to some songs and see what he's capable of playing at this time.  Easy or hard depends on the person that's playing.

I agree.
But Kids these days are ADVANCED!
Its shocking what a 10 year old can do these days.

Like the little boy in this clip,he's on 8 years old!

But to answer your question,i also recommend 'Let it Rain'.
VERY simple chords.

I was young and playing in church but my cousin was helping me. So I guess you just have to have the correct guidance. But when this little dude gets twenty he is going to be something serious.

That's the big key right there.  I been playing drums in church since I was 6.  I didn't have anyone to teach me, I had to watch others and pick up stuff.  If I had someone to teach and guide me when I was younger, I would be playing way better than I do today.

T-Block I wouldn't underestimate the young man cuz he's only 10, young people can do waaaayyy more than adults give them credit for.  BTW, check out the vid of the 10 year old organist in the organ room.
I will bless the Lord at all times, and his praise shall continually be in my mouth...

Let the Lord use this young man. I think that we should all remember what Phillipians 4:13 says, " I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." Here is an old but simple song for your son to learn

Jesus Oh How I love Calling Your Name
Shirley Caesar
Key C

C/ C-E-G Jesus
G/ G-B-D Oh Jesus
F/ F-A-C Oh how i love

F/A-C-F cal
E/ G-C-E lling
D/ F-A-D your
C/ E-G-C name

Just repeat the same chords for the whole song and Be Blessed!!!!!

I'm not underestimating his skills, I'm talking about the mental aspect that it takes to play for a choir and be that young.  The keyboard/organ player is sort of the head of the music, so all eyes will be mostly on that person.  Some people can handle it, some people need more experience before getting that type of role.  It's more thatn just playing, it's following the director and leading the other musicians as well.

I'm 24 and I still feel overwhelmed with all the responsibility of my position, so I can imagine what it will be like for a 10 year old.
