Hello !

I'm french and i'd like to learn how to play these kind of fills.
I just discovered all thoses drummers (gospel, shedding ...) playing amazing fills with lot of bass drums in it but we don't have that kind of drummers in france and i don't understand how this fills are built.
I heard about triplets but i don't understand if all is about triplets.
If someone could explain me the basics so that I could create my own fills it would be so nice. I just need someone advices to start.
That's so frustating to see something you like and not understand what's happening !!

i think what you are talking about is something aaron called triplets on the modern drummer dvd. its actually just three notes phrased in a 3/16 pattern. meaning that its like this as sixteenth notes

1e&a 2e&a 3e&a 4e&a
1231 2312 3123 1231
2312 3123 1231 2312
3123 1231 2312 3123

as you can see it takes 3 measures to resolve to one

so the fill aaron does some times/alot is
LRK RLK

L is left hand R is Right hand K is the kick/bass drum so it goes like this
1e&a 2e&a 3e&a 4e&a
LRKR LKLR KRLK LRKR
LKLR KRLK LRKR LKLR
KRLK LRKR LKLR KRLK

then it resolves

so thats one of the patterns

another basic pattern is the
HHKK HHKK HHKK HHKK

pattern which is just two hands and two on the kick

Oh ok cause that clip did not sound good.  Blah blah blah.  Thats all I heard was blah blah blah.  Man who edited that video?  I know those dudes can play but...its just amazing how audio mixes and video editing can make you sound like garbage.

Well I couldnt hear the groove at all or pretty much anything else for that matter! like some of you already said!! 8) :) But It looks like the killed!!..lol... :-\ ;) ;D

Seeing things elsewhere on the internet is different than seeing the same clips recycle thru the board.  You're starting to see what I'm talking about.  Just hang arount the board for another couple of months....  You'll see it....
