To all football fans....What do you think about the Michael Vick situation?

As we have said in topics before, racism gets blamed for a lot of black athletes getting in trouble....and so the question is do you believe that Michael Vick is being indicted because of race? money? What do you think of this whole saga? Is this another Oj Simpson thing? Do you believe that the charges are fair or do you believe that the Prosecutors are just trying to build up their careers? Holla at a sista.

Well, Im a dog lover.   I read the "entire" article and the treatment of these animals was horrible.

If Vick was involved, then he get what he deserves.   Apparently there was other stuff going on at the home for them to be under investigation (it was drugs according to the article).

Now Vick was the home owner and these folks were living there for free.  Vick is the registered Dog Breeder, owner of the property and the kennel.    He got to keep up to speed on whats going on.  Hopefully he really didn't know  and the evidence will prove that. but if he was having these animals fight, and them killing them ( according to the article the killings were by hanging, shooting, electrocution, and slamming the dogs into the ground), then he deserves whatever he gets.

When you are caregiver ( patients, clients, chiildren, pets) and they depend on you for their  livelihood, you have a responsibility. 

Even animals brought to the slaughter are given a merciful ( quick and as painless as possible) death.

Call me crazy, but I think he was indicted because there was sufficient evidence to bring forth an indictment.  Contrary to popular belief, sometimes black folk get in trouble because (surprise) THEY DID SOMETHING WRONG.  I believe in innocent until proven guilty, but if a house where dogfighting occurs is in your name, there are dead dogs buried on your property, there are eyewitnesses to your dealings in dogfighting, and you run a kennel, that's enough fo rme to arrest you and see what a judge and jury have to say.

I think possibly him being a celebrity had something to do with it. Plus, he's been getting in the news about various things as well in recent months. However, the things that they say were done to those animals is horrific so if he's guilty of that...it's a shame. He and his brother have issues. I think that he should be suspended from the NFL until the issue is resolved. As much as I love sports, enough is enough.

I agree with you guys for the most part....Where there is SMOKE....there is usually FIRe! I too belielve in innocent until proven guilty. But you know that you have to walk a thin line when you have MONEy! I know that this is unfair but hey its just the way it is. You are held to a much higher standard when you are rich and an athlete and on top of all of that black. People for some reason think, that money makes you intelligent but thats not always the case as we have seen. I hope that these people have more than just the WORD of a few fellow dogfighters....!Because you can indict a HAM SANDWICH but its the physical evidence that brings forth convictions....If I'm a juror, why should I believe you when you were right there with him in the dog pin?

If I'm a landlord, I have a vested interest in the upkeep and a general knowledge of the goings-on at my property- especially if the goings-on is a rather large, organized dog-fighting ring.  I know that one is innocent until proven guilty, but this one doesn't look good for Vick.  Too bad, I was hoping to see how he would fare on the field this year, under his 3rd head coach.  Having organizational changes is hard for a young QB, especially one who has to learn how to think like a QB in addition to performing like an athelete.  Physical skills can only take you so far for so long.

I'm about to agree with you......   But they got to get a reciever core (besides A.C.) before I label him subpar.   I've seen him hit them boys in the hands and chest plenty of times, but they still dropping balls.   

I do agree that  his defense reading capabilities are suspect ( but speed makes up for a bunch of ills).  Also, I've heard rumors that all of his coaches  have had to simplify offenses for him.

I was gonna give him 1 mo year.......   but maybe he's done already.

Coaches simplify offenses over 90% of the time because of the complexity of the game, its speed and the personnel on the field. You can have a gang of plays but if you don't have the players ito execute then the rest is obsolete. Mike Vick has gotten himself in a world of trouble. I think some of those "informants" have an axe to grind or have been offered less time if they give up Vick.

I don't trust the FBI for many historical reasons. Their shaky dealings of the past is to much for me... When you own a property it is your responsibility to know what goes on there. I just don't buy that Vick didn't have any knowledge at all. The testimonies of the guys who placed him there will have to be credible in order to get a real conviction. The stories on how the dogs were treated is to envoke more rage from the publc. Apparently this has worked. I honestly think he'll beat it. Whether he's is guilty or not is another story.

I'm fair and wise enough to let this situation play out. Many rushed to judgement with the Duke Lacrosse team. This was all came about on the "credibility" of a troubled witness and respected prosecuter. America believed for the first time that white guys would actually be brought up on charges for the rape of a black woman. Turns out it was a hoax. This case isn't all about race but the bias on both sides is hard to ignore. Mike Vick is a public figure first and a black man second. The chips will fall where they may but rich public figures always has a better chance than a poor one..

He can't just run up and down the field, by himself, every time he can't read a defense.

I'll give you the fact that they need to get him some WR help.

Vick has NOT been consistent in hitting cats in the chest or hands. He's too 'streaky' for me.

Oh yeah and Michael Vick has one thing going for him as a quarterback....HE'S EXCITING TO WATCH!!!That's really all. He's not that acurate, he's not a so-called pocket passer, but he puts people in seats and everyone watches the Falcons to see what he's going to do next.  Do you guys remember that shake and bake he did on the Minnesota Vikings? He made those two guys run into each other....He makes defenses look like FOOLS!

That is true, but in order to make a career, you got to be able to read a defense, and deliver the ball.   You won't have speed forever
