You may just have a point there Sjon....LOL Boy I tell ya what, the league and the Falcons are gonna be under a lot of pressure to go ahead and suspend or either cut him. I feel sorry for his teamates who had absolutely nothing to do with any of this mess but yet they are going to be the ones who suffer the most. They are going to be answering questions all season long about how they feel about the Michael Vick case. This has probably recked the season before it even had a chance to begin.....Do you guys think that they should have kept Matt Schaub?

The only way the other members of the Falcons will be bothered is if Vick is found guilty. Other than that, they'll just go back to playing football, not right away, but by midseason (midseason being week 4, in my book)

Now, if this mess distracts the already inconsistent Vick, THEN, it'll bother everyone associated with the organization.

And yes, they should have kept Schaub. You don't get rid of a decent backup QB in this day and age in the NFL.

If anything does happen to Vick...have you heard about the back up QBs that Atl has....check this out Joey Harrington, Dj Shockley, and Chris Redman... ::) ::) ::) ::) That is a really bad JOKE

if Vick goes down, for any reason, the Falcons are done. Truth be told, I wasn't countin' on them to do much this season, anyway. ::)

If the Texans can fix ANY part of their OL, Schaub will be just fine. And, David Carr wasn't THAT mobile.

Innocent until proven guilty is my first thought.

I wished if he was guilty in the beginning, he would have spared us fans the drama to come.  been a man and suffered the consequences. If proven guilty, I think he will be used as an example by the league and suspended for the year. Let's remember, he hoped his younger brother would turn himself around and now look what he's linked to.
We all sin, we falter, but God forgives.

I agree certify...Sometimes prosperity can be your worst enemy if your not careful....Its funny how one minute you are on top of the world and everyone is patting you on the back. But those same people that put you up will end up being the very people that throw you away when you're doing bad. Take Kobe for instance, he had all of those endorsements and what have you...with Nike for example. Look at how fast they dropped him when those rape charges were brought against him. He hadn't even been proven guilty. So you have to keep a level head and take things with a grain of salt.

He's Mike Vick's little brother.   He was a QB at VT too until they finally had enough of him acting a fool. ie: stepping on a defender's hand (with cletes on mind you) well after the play.  He ruined his life doing stupid stuff.  I hope Vick(big bro) hasn't done the same.
God Bless!!

Do yall think that he should be immediately suspended before he actually goes to court? Everyone is saying that Pacman Jones didn't get to go to court or anything before they suspended him...he hadn't even been charged with a crime. The Commish says that Pacman gave the NFL a bad name with all of his negative publicity. Should Arthur Blank give him a paid leave of absence?

It's a slippery slope. Vick is the face of his franchise and the NFL has marketed him as a superstar attraction, so it makes it a harder pill to swallow that one of the 'superstars' of the league is in this kind of trouble.

However, if we are to be fair, then Vick should be suspended pending his 7/26 court date.

Depending on that outcome, then the league can take the necessary next step.

Art Blank has already released a statement that implies that they are going to allow Mike to defend himself. How many of you would like to be cut off from your livelihood in such a difficult time. Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and not public opinion. Blank isn't crazy to cut his golden goose. Shaub is going to be a 48 million dollar bust. 2 NFL starts doesn't mean success in another place. Shaub showed flashes but one can't say until they line up.

People never give Vick the credit he deserves. Given all of what he can't do he still took his team to the NFC championship game 2 years ago. I 'm sure if all you arm chair experts saw how many balls in the film room guys drop many of you would close your mouth. I don't think that Vick has done all that he can to tap into the potential of his strong arm and mobility. I don't think the org has put the right pieces in the recieving corp to help him develop. Randall Cunningham was accused of the same thing but in the 98 season he showed that with weapons and a line he could shred defenses. They were an overtime shy of the 99 superbowl..

Cunningham and Vick are the same quarterback. The eagles coaching staff only worried about making a stud defense evey more superhuman. They NEVER invested in a recieving corp to help Randall. His scrambling ability was used as an excuse not to get the line together. Loooks mighty familiar to me.

This is so unbelievably wrong, it's funny. Well, not really.

The Eagles finished in 5th place in '98 & '99 and since 1980-81 hadn't sniffed the playoffs until '88, where they lost!

They won wild card games in '92 & '95. And, Cunningham was a far superior athlete compared to Vick although both couldn't read a defense; especially the 3-4 ::) :-\

But, it wasn't until McNabb was at the helm that the Eagles made it to a divisional playoff game, much less, the NFC championships.

But, keep talkin', chief.Talk about armchair QBs. Better stick to teams in the South East. ::)

Great question. If the league not to follow suit, it would be the equivalent of position discrimination, according to Mark Schlereth, and ESPN analyst.  So, whether or not he's the face of the franchise, in the league's most visible and highest paying position (QB), the league should be consistent in it's handing down of punishments.

Lol @ furious styles.....We really got you stirred up didn't we furious!! Tell us how you really feel... I loved Randall Cunningham, he was one of my favorite quarterbacks because of his ability to make plays with his legs and his arm. But its a known fact that you have to stay in balance as a quarterback...and if Vick can get all of this legal stuff out of the way and get some recievers that can catch...and if he can stay balanced meaning: if you have to scramble, scramble...but if you have to stay in the pocket, stay in the pocket...If and only if he can get the right team around him and do this, Then he will be one of the best quarterbacks ever...bar none!

I feel that Michael Vick should take the initiative and take a paid leave of absence on his own until this whole saga is over...thats just my opinion. Sjon you are right, the Falcons are not going to get very far with or without him anyways this season because he still doesn't have the team that he needs to be successful so what the hay...like NIke...Just Do It!!!<------corny isn't it  :P

I thought you were a much better football analyst than that. I meant the season when Cunningham was the starting Quarterback in Minnesota. The Dirty Birds beat them at their home stadium.. Buddy Ryan has admitted to the very facts of my last post. Any facts to refute mine?

You're always back pedalling with some 'fact(s)' that you 'inadvertently' missed or messed up, for whatever reason. ::)

And then, as ostentatiously as possible, you try to come at others' necks when they tell you about your mistake.

Maybe YOU should do some more analysisof your informationbefore you post, then you won't have to retract your statements in some manner, shape or form. :-\

Remember, Google is your friend. ;)

As for your supposed 'facts' on Cunningham, I can agree, for the most part. Cunningham was a tough QB with a fantastic arm and was tougher than most people gave him credit. And yet, when you think of great QBs, his name isn't even in the top 5.

He was very, very good with great skills, but that's not enough; it wasn't in Philly, and it wasn't in Minnesota, where he had the offense to compliment his gifts. Buddy Ryan has been quoted as saying that an improved offensive line is what was needy for Philly to win, not so much, a better receiving corp.  ;)

Wait, forget that question, I don't want you to go into another diatribe about how it's, "The Man's" fault. ::)

But, all of that has NOTHING to do with Vick, until he gets traded to say, the Patriots or somebody with a decent receiving corp, right; according to your 'facts'? :-\
