Don't be offended by this, as it's not a testament to your playing, but rather the fact that I'm not super familiar with a lot of modern gospel... but what songs are those?

Your tone is nice and warm. There are some really pretty chords in there, and your changes on the 1st one are really clean.

Nice stuff.

First song is "Faithful Is Our God" by Hezekiah Walker from his "20-85 The Experience" release of 2005.

I can't identify the second  or third song.

The last song was the head to "Brighter Day" by Kirk Franklin.

I see Spoon is from Montgomery County, MD. We'll have to hook up...I'm from right over the Anne Arundel County line outside Bowie, MD in Prince George's County. I'm playing Sundays in Clinton.

Amazing what ya'll's  new generation is doing in such a short time..It's been a while but I think I was still trying to get a grip on making a F chord with out all the strings buzzing (now that I think about it, it may have been that cheap guitar!!) Good spirits and keep on Pickin'

I always think I'm behind on the guitar because I have lots of trouble catching on to simple songs. I'm still searching for my own stlye

Don't get discouraged. Your own style will come. It does take time. I had been playing for about 6 years before I really thought I sounded like myself. And now, 9 years after that, I can see a huge maturity in my style from where I was.

I feel like there are things that I could pull off at 18, that I have now forgotten, but the things I do now are far more tasty.

You will come upon your own voice soon enough, and then you will spend the rest of your life honing that voice. That's not meant as a discouragement, that's the fun of it to me! To really sit back and listen, then think "ok, what do I do differently than so-and-so? Where did I pick up all these little things that I do?"

THAT'S the fun part to me. And that's why I'm AMPED about this jam we're starting.
