ok i have an idea evryone who has any reviews they can share on drum books, dvd's albums or whatever please share in this fomart
name: code of funk
author: david garibaldi
rating out of 5 :####
additional comments: overall this is a great book for those wishing to gain an insight of mr garibaldi's mind, this book comes with a play along cd from tower of power's album oakland zone, aswell as dvd features which enable you slow down drum loops in order for you to grasp them better. this book is also very useful if you wish to enhance your sight reading skills by incorparting full drum transcrirtion from the album. overall i would recommend this to the more advanced drummer due to the fact that you must be able to read however the playalong cd can be used for beginner levels.

I just purchased this book. I bought it purely on reputation. Modern Drummer thought pretty highly of it, and Dave is just too funky for words. His ideas are pretty nice.
...I admire you gentlemen. I'll get to the more advanced reading stages one of these days.

For now, I'll stick with the Gerber Food books. lol I'm getting there though. I've improved.

I'm working on this right now with my teacher.

It is what it is and I'm not ashamed. I'm on book #1 along with working on "Stick Control".

...the books I want to get to eventually are: "The Drummer's Complete Vocabulary" by John Ramsay, "Polyrhythms for the Drumset" by Peter Magadini, "Conversations in Clave" by Horacio Hernandez, "Contemporary Drumset Phrasing" by Frank Katz, "The New Breed" by Gary Chester and Rick Mattingly and "It's About Time", Fred Dinkins.
...I'll get there by the time I'm 40. lol
