I didn't do bad. But everything I did was so boring. I played simple pocket and I kept doing the same fills and licks over and over again. It just seemed like I had no creativity in me today. This is not the first time its happened either.  Sometimes its because I play 2 services and I'm just sleepy, and other times my creative juices just aren't flowing.

Is it possible to be on point every single sunday? I know plenty drummers who are on point every time they sit on a drum throne. I have tons more good sundays than bad ones, but I want to eliminate all the bad ones!

Simple boring Pocket with NO creativity at all and I do the same fill everytime too!! ;D :D ;) It seems like when I have off days, I try to get into it but I still find myself doing the same thing the whole service. :-\ ::)

Yeah I have days like that.  A lot of times, people cant tell but you know for yourself that youre not having a good performance.  I hate it when you get to church and the monitor mix is all screwed up and it was perfect in rehearsal.  That can definately cause you to lose your feel.

Heck yeah man. I hate that. We use in-ear moniters so you def. know when the sound mix is jacked.

...dude, there you go. LOL  I feel you on that though.  Last Sunday I had a better mix playing without my headphones than with them. >:(  My ears are ringing because of that stunt. :-\ (Drums behind the glass.)  My mix has got to be right.  If it isn't, I can be playing good but I'll always feel lost or like if I'm draggin' the time or something. >:(   I can honestly say that my role has changed to time keeper when I play do to the fact that a few musicians/singers at church have time issues.  I really don't like that because everyone is responsible for the time.

Man dont sweat it! Everyone has days like that...Mines usually when Ive been playing bass (I play bass too) every Sunday and Im so tired I forget where notes are and stuff. Try drinking an energy drink like Rock Star or Monster on your way to Church, thats what works for me.
