Otra vez, dog - your sentence structure is unclear.

If I am guessing what you're trying to say (and this should not be something that anyone should 'have' to do when reading any inquiry), maybe the main drummer had a schedule conflict that would not allow him/her to participate.

Let me clear this up for you, It called producers! Artist usually have their own live musicians BUT when they want to do a professional recording with a high budget they turn it to the hands of the producers. The producer picks the musicians who he/she wants to do the recording. I find most in demand gospel producers will not give up and comings a chance (thats why you see Calvin on everything!)

The best thing for you to do is hook up with an up and coming producer and build a working relationship so when they become top you become top!

...BBD said it best....it's all about who's producing. Also many time the same cats that play on the actual session are the ones that travel with that artist as well...IE Tye Trippett......

But in the secular world, studio musicians make a whole lot more than gospel cats casue the budget is most of the time larger.
It's good you are trying to learn this stuff so you won't get robbed later...LOL and of course information is power....
