While I don't like how this was handled, I really can't be too mad at them. Still...telling everyone and their mom about it was wrong. I'm not quite sure if she should have gotten fired. It might have been more appropriate to suspend her.
“Jarretta was asked not to return because of a moral issue that was disregarded, namely fornication, sex outside of marriage. The employment application, which she filled out, clearly states that as a leader before our students we require all teachers to maintain and communicate the values and purpose of our school.”
That’s a long way from saying teachers are prohibited from having premarital sex, the couple argue.
No it's not. They're a Christian school. I would think that they go by the Bible. God says that sex is only okay between a married man and his wife. I would think that the teacher is a Christian and knows what God requires. (I'm assuming that all the teachers at a Christian schools are Christians) Still, due to this case and the fact that most people put sins on a scale of what's a little sin and what's a big sin, I think that the school should, if they haven't already, figure out what sins are a firing offense and what aren't. They can't keep firing people just because they sin. Maybe there should be a "3 strikes, you're out" thing. Idk.
I think they're going to lose the case.
In April 2009, Hamilton and Treftz went together to Ennis and told him she would be taking maternity leave in the fall. She says Ennis first complained that it was difficult for the school to cover women on maternity leave.
That's messed up. That kinda makes it sound like this was a was a way around giving maternity leave.

It may be kinda reaching but still...
