FREE BASS CLINIC: IN TEXAS
« on: August 15, 2007, 02:52:24 PM »
ATTENTION ALL CENTRAL TEXAS BASS PLAYERS!

There will be a free clinic taking place on Saturday September 1, 2007 in Austin, Texas.

Sean Byrd is a Gospel Musician however I believe musicians of all genres would benefit from the experience.  The event starts at 12:00 noon at Horizon Worship Center located at 7801 N. Lamar Blvd Suite B-148, Austin, Texas 78752.

He will cover: Music Theory, Ear Training, Groove, Techniques, Soloing, Riffs & Runs, Questions submitted at http://www.gospelbasslines.com/clinic/, and much more.

More information can be found at:
http://www.gospelbasslines.com/clinic/BassClinic_seanByrd.pdf
also see http://www.myspace.com/seanbyrdmusic
-------------------------------------
Sean Byrd is a really humble guy, who loves the Lord and loves to teach.  He is a Minister of the Gospel, as well as a music educator.  If you are able you need to be at this event.  Trust me if your open, to what he presents, your playing will be on its way to progressing to the next Level.

Definately sounds worth going to...any other bassists in the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metroplex thinking about going give me a holla and see if some of us can car pool and/or convoy down there....

Lord willing, I plan to be there.  It would be great to get an LGM mini-meet out of this too, perhaps we could hit a restaurant for dinner after the clinic to chill and yak for a while.

Those who plan on attending, remember to hit the site, and ask question ahead of time, that way he can better provide answers.

Oh yeah, it turns out that my drummer and organist both know of Sean and his folks, and are familiar with their church.  Both may try to make it.  Spreadin' the word to some other folks in Austin and in Waco.

This is gonna be good!

Well... it turns out that I probably won't be able to do anything with the group after the workshop... we have a church engangement up in Eddy, TX that evening.  I still plan to be at the clinic, though.

Torch, how long will the clinic run?
