im going out to buy a new 5 string im tring to decide if to get the peavey millennium with the ac pick ups  or the ibanez srx650 with the pfl-aln alinico magnetic pickups. it kind of a tough decision.

I would go with the Ibanez doc. Ibanez is superb for making wonderful basses (quality, sound, durability, endurance, etc) that look good, and are all around just good basses. Besides, with their basses you can dial in a custom sound compatible with any genre of music! If it's the pickups that you're concerned about, you should look into changing them out. But I'd definitely stick with the Ibanez! Peavey makes good cabs, but I wouldn't recommend any of their basses...at least not the millennium line! Good luck on the decision though
Keys, bass, drums, trombone, I sing a lil bit too lol

I would definetly, go with the Ibanez, unless you were talking about the Peavy Cirrus. A local dealer in my area told me just last week, that every Peavy Millenium, he has sold has came back with some kind of problem.

Floaded27, that should be ok just to have as a play around, leave it at the church bass. That or a Rogue which is even cheaper.

I own 2 Ibanez basses...BTB and SDGR....you can't even compare it with a Peavey....Ibanez with Bart pickups? Man that sound is awesome! There isn't much of a price difference either is it?

LOL! ME TOO!!!! And the bad thing about it is that the guy who bought gave it to a Church and that bass player from that church is on facebook, so I still see it now from time to time..And its years later.

I saw mine and played it about a month ago, and its in bad shape. The guy has taken care of it at all. I'm pissed.

You'll know which one is right for you after you test some out. See which one is the most comfortable to play. If it is comfortable, then it's the one.
